Knowing how Lana is a perfectionist and all, I think this would be the reason why she wouldn't release them officially: because it would be a lot of work to rework them, and I don't think she would release them without a minimum rework done.
-
Well, if Lana ever releases an album made of her 25 favorite leaked songs, I am so here to see the drama unfold on LB!!! Even on the unreleased stuff you don't get along

I was away for the weekend but will add my two cents here on the whole unreleased songs now on iTunes and Spotify... If you check the infos on Serial Killer on iTunes, it only credits Elizabeth, when Peter Ibsen cowrote the song... So it's clearly fake. But I must say that I first thought it was an official release: a Lana song is always 1,29$ (like Serial Killer), and it's iTunes and Spotify after all... It really is a new kind of leak that I find incredibly bold, to be honest... This is super disrespectful to Lana though... I mean, she finished a tour, she is somewhere coming back home and she and her team have to deal with this mess... The only plus sides I see to that, is that it could be a good idea for her to release previously leaked stuff under her real name, in a way to kinda close that chapter in her life. And if she wondered if an unreleased album would sell, she now has an answer, with the song charting and all :S

I really would have liked to have a little something of what is next to come, at her last concert. We know she is entering her blue period. But hey, I must keep in mind that she just finished a big tour and she works endlessly, so I should give her a break lol. I will let my goddess come through on her own time We know she is going back in studio for the next weeks and she will probably shoot a vidéo. I will keep in mind that it is coming in its own time

One thing for sure though: blue is her favorite color. Plus, on Freak, blue is associated to a flame so hot it turns to blue. So I think it is safe to say that blue is positive for her. When she is sadder, she has the blues, in her songs. Plus she seems really happy right now, really energized. I am not expecting a "I found my happy pill" type of album. Lana has always had a certain melancholy. But I feel that she is assuming that part of her, that she embraces it right now. So we might get a mix of lighter, happier things but also nostalgic songs rather than super depressed ones. And the snippet HiaB has a certain balance to it, between happy and sad: yes, you can find happiness if you stay still and let it come to you, but it is also very fragile and evanescent.

At this point, no one knows for sure. In January, two sources stated that it was going to be an album made of new songs and of unreleased ans unleaked ones. But Lana is returning in studio soon, so who knows if she is going to change her mind. Maybe the energy of the tour will shift the direction of the project.

Isn't it dead? I was sure it was abandoned by Lana in order to concentrate on the new album.

Plus she said that she wanted to begin promote LFL in April for a summer release. We have a snippet already, the tour takes a break in a couple of days... It's not impossible that we might have a June release... unless she chooses to add a shitload of songs. In that case, June is out of question lol. But I keep in mind that Lana is a summer girl. Her last three albums have been out in summer and the snippet of HiaB sounds really summery (a quiet summer evening, but still).
-
LFL is similar to HM when it comes to its production: there are so many layers to the music, the backvocals, etc. With LFL, everything is in the major keys while HM is in te minor keys.
-
June is possible if the initial project is still on : an album made of new songs and of scrapped unleaked ones. But she decided to change her mind about it and make a full LP made of new stuff, I am not getting my hopes too high this time. But I suspect that her management / record company suggested to her to be careful about saying anything and stick to the plan this time around. Plus no leaks that we know of have occurred, causing her to change the plan and record new stuff. I always doubted that a collab between Florence and Lana would be possible since Florence has a super powerful voice, but after hearing Sky Full Of Song, all toned down, I clearly hear something in that vein with Lana.

I don't really like Carmen :/

Is this the moment where we talk about Life Is beautiful and all, and dream about hearing this beautiful song? Yeah, you're right: everything he and Lana did together was pure magic. I suppose he is a busy soundtrack maker and all and doesn't always have time to do something cool with Lana
-
By the way, totally unrelated, but I speak French and Miles Kane pronounced his album title wrong, saying that it was Cou de Gras. Literally: Fat Neck or Fat Coup.
-
Ok, Lana honey, you need to come through with some new stuff, because your 2018 «collabs» leave me wanting more of you... Miles Kane has a nice song and all, but where is your luminescent voice? It would have been such a good sound for you... At least we have the Blue Madonna collab that features her voice correctly.

The problem with UV being initially announced for a release on May 1st and being delayed came from... working with Dan Auerbach. UV was slated to be released on May 1st, but the Black Keys were releasing an album on the exact same date. So, in order to have a #1 album and in order to not be in the way of Lana's producer's other project, it was pushed back to June. I just love how mysterious she is most of the time... She sang that new intro for White Mustang and did not comment on what it was, if it was just a new intro or if it was indeed bits of Bartender (or an entire new song whatsoever). And as the weeks go by, we finally get it as new info emerges.

The first time I heard Cruel World, it felt like I had found an old vinyl by an unknown female singer from the late sixties. It was just incredible. I expect her to sing an acapella snippet of the new single and announce the title of the album, probably on the 20th, on the last day of the tour. Like she did with HM.
-
I like it too actually. that song makes sense on the track listing at that particular place on the album. The message is nice. Ok, maybe the trap beats are bit «too preeminent», but it doesn't kill the whole song to me.
-
I doubt we'll get a Dan Auerbach production again. Their working relationship was good, but not without frictions from time to time. He wanted to take the song in a certain direction, she didn't always feel like it was the best idea. They had problems sometimes expressing what the song was about (Lana would describe it in one word, Dan was not always getting what was behind it). At the end of the day, everything was always fine, they were dancing to the songs and all. Before HM, Dan offered Lana to produce a track or two, but she declined, saying that the next album was going in a complete different direction. Whether you like it or not, Rick understands her perfectly, and she needs that kind of chemistry with her producer.

Oh! I didn't know that! I always thought it came out before Paradise. My timeline is kinda foggy for that period: I was really starting to fall in love with Lana and I was mixing up songs from BTD, paradise and the leaked stuff (until I found out they were not actual released songs but leaked ones :/). Thanks for clearing that up I get that. I feel the same. It is the only thing I don't like about her: telling too much too soon. I get that with LFL, the photoshoots and interviews were planned months before the release of the album, when she thought she was done and before she went back at it. Therefore, she was talking al lot about Yosemite and stuff. Maybe her record company or her managers told her this time no not reveal too much, especially it the outcome of the song is not certain? Yeah, me too, these days. Change feels a very emotional one, which I love. I would dig that stripped down production showcasing her voice. You Must Love Me is in the same vein.
-
I really love You Must Love Me, and I think the album could go in that direction: stripped down, showcasing her voice. For pretty much each new record, she released a track prior to it that was almost like a preview of what we were up to, sonically: - before Paradise, we got Young and Beautiful and that EP was melodic and cinematic as well; - before UV, we got the dark Once Upon a Dream; - before HM, we got the soothing Big Eyes and I Can Fly; I am not quite sure what track before LFL was the «preview»... Stargirl Interlude?!?!??? Is it even close to LFL? Or maybe this album is just so peculiar that nothing could preview it lol. I just hope You Must Love Me is the «preview» to LDR6. (wouldn't mind if Blue Madonna was an indicator to what we could get, but I am only dreaming here lol)

That account has been leaking stuff since LFL came out (the instrumentals of the album, snippets from the Summer Bummer and Tomorrow Never Came demos, snippet of SR...) The latest was the Florida Kilos guitar snippet. Either Lana's management took it down or he did it himself (cause we were all so "mean to him" to ask him to stop leaking stuff or warning him of the possible consequences). If rumours are true, she said to fans that Sylvia was the saddest shit she's ever written... Then again, all we know about that song was reported by fans with no actual proof that we know of... i doubt we will get Something that soon. I mean, she is still on tour until the 20. Even a single alone needs a sort of promo whatsoever (radio interviews and stuff, official release, a video recording in the works...). She won't be taking the road until June, so I expect something coming out then (she most likely will go back in studio to finish and polish the project). I also suspect an announcement of the title of the album or an accapella snippet of the new single on the very last dates of the tour before the break, in April.

When it comes to her looks, I honestly don't care. I love her voice, I love her spirit, her soul, her music. Her best feature remains her eyes, I believe. I generally prefer when people age naturally (too much plastic surgery of any kind tends to make an "ageless weird creature" as the years go by), but it's her own decision. And let's not forget she lives in L.A., where your plastic surgeon is pretty much your emergency contact, so....
-
She lives in California, where earthquakes are really common... I wouldn't look too much into it for a clue for the next album. Not everything she posts on social media is related to her musical projects. I remember that, a couple of months after HM came out, she posted a picture of Quentin Tarantino on the cover of an italian magazine, with the italian flag underneath, and a couple of us went completely nuts, thinking she was making a video for Salvatore directed by Tarantino. Well, it was just that she was reading that magazine and no video for Salvatore ever saw the light of day (it surely was never even a project she was thinking of doing).

I really dig this "Chage-type" of record if it is the continuity of LFL, the answers found on the questions she raised on LFL. Kinda like the Paradise EP to BTD. Happiness tends to be expressed in peaceful tones, and it makes sense to go in that direction if this album is really about happiness. And I am warning you in advance, guys: if this album is indeed in the same vein as Change, give it time to grow on ya! I was not in love that much with BAR the first times I listened to it. Sure, Lana's voice was sublime as always, the acoustic guitar in the beginning was gorgeous, but I thought at first it was a bit dragging on... Then I realized what this song was about: to acknowledge your past love, but to take back power over it by expressing what you needed and were lacking in that relationship, to make peace with that toxic relationship. And now, I love it so so much. I can really picture myself listening to a beautiful toned-down record on a quiet summer evening, with the sunset...
