  1. Exactly! When we look back on NFR, there’s no way to determine what was the « lead » of this album… and even the next albums after that for that matter. And not that it should matter probably.
  2. I’m not giving up hope completely for MV this era, but our theory, that she wanted homemade MV for this era and that pretty much everything got stolen this summer, seems to be more and more plausible, with each week passing without a MV.
  3. When is the Billboard Music Awards? Beginning of March?! I tried looking it up but couldn’t find a quick date… Yeah, I’m not expecting much this week but maybe some tiny tiny tidbit of something.
  4. Monday morning here… What will this week bring us? Not expecting much, maybe just a cute Insta post. Or some sort of « countdown » for a new magazine cover.
  5. To me: Venice Bitch. i love A&W, it’s as an intricate track as VB, but VB is easier to listen to because A&W has such dark lyrics to it… I listen to A&W everyday, many times a day, it’s gorgeous and a career highlight for sure, but VB became my lifestyle, back in 2018-19 haha!
  6. I don’t know if I’ll say the same thing upon release, but at the moment, this album feels like it’s Norman’s angry little sister: darker, sinister in some ways, even more honest, like when you let your guards down, but musically sweeping.

  8. Based on the Billie interview, Margaret was the last recorded song of the album… Do we think Jack’s caption « Honeymoon from hell » (August 25) was while recording Margaret or another track?
  9. This is the part that I don’t get when Eclipse said her managers were pissed we found out about a&w’s release (not saying he is lying at all, btw) Like, she posted about it very late in the day, same with the title track… were they supposed to be « surprises »? Since BB, we can’t say she is the queen of promo
  10. I don’t know what to think of MV anymore… I love, love, love many of the MV she did in the past (of course) and COCC’s is the best IMO… but I don’t think it was cheap making that one (and i dont think it got that many views on YT either). I know they solidify an era, but I kinda see them as a bonus now rather than a necessity. In the last four years, my faves from her have been COCC, FIILy/The Greatest… and Hope (probably because it was unexpected and was "released" during the pandemic and reflected the loneliness we were all living). I’m not even sure if MV are viewed as good a promo as they used to be by the music industry: even big names don't make as many as they used to in previous eras and they dont seem as high-budget as they used to be (Beyonce, Taylor…).
  11. I honestly kinda gave up on getting a physical copy of Interview
  12. Hasn’t BoZ said that those « bombastic » songs kinda don’t exist?!? Or I dreamt that when he spilled here?!?
  13. It has been probably discussed before on release date, but I think it’s safe to say that A&W is the song Jack was talking about when he said he was playing around with 808s and she began singing / adlibing and reading her memo note. also, I hope Jimmy is mentioned somewhere else on the album: it would connect the dots so perfectly!!!
  14. 💯 agree. I’m very surprised it got that much attention that fast. VB was a critic’s darling from day one and people who love trippy songs, but I don’t recall the GP loving that track so much at first. A&W sure is dark Lana, which is what GP love from her at the moment, I guess
  15. Honeymoon was love at first sight (listen?) for me because I love old Hollywood and this album channels it tremendously. But she is making art and well, sometimes, it takes time to « get it » or connect with it. And she is 37; maybe she won’t channel what a 20 year-old would connect with, but over time and experiences, that person might change their POV. I get the LFL critiques, same with the BB and COCC ones; they are valid but there is no Lana album that is bad IMO (all have standout tracks and discography gems). I’m mostly concerned with people who haven’t loved anything she put out since HM though it’s okay not to Stan an artist anymore lol one thing that we’re very lucky (and should be grateful for), with her, is if you don’t like an album or an era, you won’t have to wait three or four years for the next one (if she still records as much as she does these days).
  16. I know I got a big storm coming, but I never liked the picture used for the target poster When Lana posted it on Jan 13, I thought it was a manip Sorry, guys (but feel free to enjoy it and love it as much as you do )
  17. Bah, it’s the neverending cycle of LB: pre-eras trash the previous album, with through-the-roof expectations for the new one. But once the new is out for a couple of weeks, « deceptions » begin to fly high again. According to LB, HM was considered boring when it was out, LFL was trash and incohesive, NFR was watered-down, etc, etc. HM was viewed as a masterpiece after LFL and NFR; LFL finally got the well-deserved love it got with new members joining for the last two years, etc. all critics are valid, but this forum tends to be over critical with the last album and even the newest one.
  18. If that were the case, I can’t even think of the hours it’d take to memorize the title and acronym
  19. For the moment, I choose to believe it stands for Did You Know… / Norman F Rockwell / Chemtrails over the country club (the « Jack » albums). surely isn’t but I don’t want to « white whale »again a possible unreleased track from her
  20. Second part was of course very catchy on first listen. But the first part is the most haunting and the most that has to « offer » over time. But my fave part is the junction between the two, very Nine Inch Nails.
  21. Ah! Thanks! I really thought there was another fight, which are more frequent in drought periods rather than when we are fed.
  22. People still fighting? I mean, we got an incredible photoshoot and a new single many, many of us love… (haven’t read anything in the last pages though to know what the fight is about )
  23. I really think it was a smart move. If we got another ballad as the second single, the song might have been more « unnoticed ». Plus it’s a massive track: we need some time to let it breathe, to absorb it.
