Interview magazine has been around for 50 years and has always been purely conversational--like this conversation between Billie and Lana. It's never been anything but conversational. Back in days of yore, Rolling Stone and Playboy used to do hard-ass interviews where they would really press people on matters and issues, and then Linda Ronstadt would end up saying things like, "If you wanna hear my voice, then go buy one of my records, don't bother me while I'm dining out with friends, it's so rude."

No one can deny now that Lana is not an intelligent woman, an intelligent individual, an intelligent person, and Billie also. Of course, I've always thought so--knew so--like all of you. I love to read good criticism, good analysis, but loathe analysis based on political ideology, especially today, with "a female, a woman, must present herself only in this way: ____________," or "Americans are starving and struggling in this country and this rich bitch, with all her five houses and sports cars, has all her beautiful people problems." Bravo, Lana. Life is not a Marxist script.

But doesn't she say, despite the official lyrics, "I'm a sad girl, I'm a bad girl, I'm a mad girl"?

Isn't it out in New Zealand yet? Hasn't it escaped into the world by now via nefarious channels?

Any sign, anywhere, of A&W? No hard news, apparently.

I've just been listening to some of Joan's 70s work I had forgotten about--'Yellow Coat,' 'Luba the Baroness,' 'Sailing,' 'The Song at the End of the Movie'--so I'm in a perfect mood for this, and it strengthens their tie publicly. Hopefully we'll get some good information about what initially brought Joan to Lana's work.

I still have a feeling it’s going to become available before official release.

I don’t think they think as most of us do. It’s possible that they’re mad with power, one or both, and don’t like anything escaping their control. The world, and especially the entertainment field, are full of psychopaths and above all, they seek public prestige, power, and control.

I think ‘normal’ went out with the 20th century.

If they do, it will leak most likely.

But that is the reality of how things work in 2023. They need to wake up. People the world over are RABID for LDR, and many will do almost anything to get their ears and hands on new material.

Yeah, I guess if a song is suddenly available for free within 24 hours of the official release, then I guess I have been considering that a leak, when it is not a true leak in the genuine sense of the word.

Maybe others can chime in. I remember it leaking a day before, and the same for the 3 BB singles.

But everything of LDR’s leaks at least 24 hours before release. What hasn’t? It’s actually a good sign of course. People the world over are starved for her artistry.

So: when will A&W leak?? As we know it will. Next Monday?? Perhaps sooner?
