Born To Die is the Megan Fox of the Lana albums. Ultraviolence is Charlize Theron. Honeymoon is Amy Adams. Lust For Life is some Marvell sellout actress. Norman Fucking Rockwell is Meryl. -

There's no denying that Born To Die is one of the most influential albums of the decade that sold tons of copies. But influence + numbers do not equal quality as history has shown us many times before. Many mediocre albums, movies, books, etc. have went on to become influential and successful. At the end of the day, Born To Die is a messy, overproduced album that puts style over substance, and will forever be associated with a bad SNL performance, plastic surgery, rich daddy rumors, provocative visuals, and other nonsense. Norman Fucking Rockwell, on the other hand, is just about great music and prestige. Not to mention Lana Del Rey and Norman Rockwell's names will be uttered in front of +20 million viewers next year. If you were an Lana album, wouldn't you rather have the type of legacy and cultural impact NFR is having?.All other Lana albums are super jealous of NFR right now in the same way all actresses are jealous of Meryl Streep! -

Critics came around when Lana ditched the worst producer of all time, Emile Haynie, and started making good albums. That was already on her second album, so not sure ''recently'' is the right word. -

As one member already noted earlier in this thread, it's not Jared who they find here (being all ''pissy'') each time they log in. On the contrary, they find the same 3 people (mostly Honeymoon stans) circle jerking each other and posting the same repetitive garbage about the NFR and its producer, Jack Antonoff, that they posted each and every day since the August (a reminder that it's almost Christmas now!) Idk, maybe you don't notice them because their repetitive posts fit your own biases? Anyhow, the way things are going, those same people will be here on Christmas Eve going on about Jack's production. Now that's a real concern right there! We should help them find the peace and happiness! -

Onto more important things now. How do we get Lana to stop mentioning her boyfriend cop from Oklahoma for another few months? Like why can't she at least say he's from L.A. - a small lie? -

NFR hype definitely died quickly, that's why it just got nominated for top Grammy categories including Album of the Year and Song of the year and is topping year-end lists. Oh, I forgot! By hype, you guys mean it doesn't have shitty, overproduced songs and visuals, perfect hair and make-up, and it's not high on the charts like other high-quality music such as Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5? -

I have posted my thoughts on the album a while ago. I'm sorry if me doing something so simple as posting news and accolades the album is receiving is so upsetting and traumatic for some members. -

Every time I visit this board, it's the same 3 people stuck here posting the very same, shallow and negative thing about the album and producer they posted a day, week, months ago. But no one is losing their shit. Old Lana is not coming back. Cheers to that. -

A reminder that ''Critics said all of Lana's albums pre-NFR/LFL were trash and are only giving NFR a rave reviews because they feel like they owe it to her/ have only now caught up to her genius'' is a propaganda parroted by very bitter people who can't accept the fact that Lana is maturing and doing new things. This is simply their way of projecting their insecurities (about not liking the album) onto people who are enjoying the album. That's why they lose their shit every time someone post something positive about the album, like me posting that amazing, year-end write-up. Not gonna lie though. I'm definitely entertained watching the same 3 people losing their mind over and over again and posting the same shit since the late August. It's like watching someone beat their head against the wall over and over again for 3 months. It must be driving them insane knowing, that no matter how many times they spam the same and very shallow talking points, they can't change the general consensus and legacy of the album. Oh, and once again, speaking of critics trashing Lana's albums pre-NFR/LFL: -

But in the hands of Del Rey and her co-producer Jack Antonoff, America’s cultural, spiritual, and moral bankruptcy sounds like a million bucks. Specifically, it sounds like a million bucks circa 1970, so in 2019, adjusting for inflation, that’d be around six million. Even more specifically, it sounds like a languid Laurel Canyon fever dream, lightly psychedelic folk-rock ballads that got lost on their way to Dennis Wilson’s favorite bar at 4AM and sat down at a piano bench instead. Her voice has never sounded better, and her devastating, allusion-dense lyrics have never been more quotable. With Norman Fucking Rockwell!, Lana Del Rey just might have written the next best American record she’s so obsessed with after all. ‘Cause she knew she could. ‘Cause she’s just that good. -

I knew NFR was gonna be Lana's magnum opus ever since I heard the first singles and I wasn't shy about saying it out loud. I didn't need the critics to tell me the obvious. I don't know why you always bring them up because all they did was to confirm the obvious. And I don't think NFR is Lana's only good album. I think both Ultraviolence and Honeymoon are solid albums that have some great parts (especially the first half of Ultraviolence). And when you really think about it, all this anger about NFR is kinda pointless considering White Hot Forever is most likely going to surpass it and become the best album of all time. -

I wouldn't call myself a troll. I think I'm just trying to make light out of a dark situation (which is this never-ending NFR/Jack hate circle jerk). But enough about me. If only there was a way to quickly find out how many songs Lana and Jack recorded this month. -

Calling California or Hope Is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have-But I Have It awful or bragging about Doin' Time being the only song you're still listening from NFR is kinda like screaming out loud (in a very crowded place) about 50 Shades of Grey being your favorite movie. Sometimes it's better to keep some thoughts to yourself. -

At times, NFR can sound like a live album or have that certain live album feel to it; it's not too polished and overproduced. It's a product of Jack and Lana using certain stylistic choices. So I'll give you that. But everything else is nitpicking. Yes, fans on Lana boards are famous for obsessing over details, but also for their hallucinations (seeing things that aren't really there). Let's not forget that ''Lana losing her touch, inspiration, passion for music, and should retire'' was the main theme of NFR pre-release threads. -

Us 3 NFR stans on this board need to stick together and defend the album and Jack's honor against the tireless, malicious propaganda attacks coming from Ultraviolence and Honeymoon stans. We need to fight for NFR and Jack until the very last drop of our blood!
