Lana's entire career was basically launched because she had one genuinely great song (Video Games). Although I do appreciate the fans openly admitting they're superficial and shallow minded. Very brave!
-
It's produced by Jack (public enemy #1), so it doesn't fit the narrative
-
It's not a bait. All I'm saying is that you guys are acting like hipsters. It's not a coincidence that Honeymoon is hailed as a masterpiece on this forum (because it's Lana's most underrated/ignored album) while NFR (her most acclaimed work) gets constantly trashed!
-
So another unserious album where Lana tries to be more palatable. Making artistic concessions at this stage in her career, when she should be doing the exact opposite!

Jack's taste is impeccable, at least when it comes to Lana's music. If he says AW is his favorite among many classics he has done with Lana (Mariners, Venice Bitch, The Greatest, Hope, White Dress, etc), then I'm expecting it to be the best song of her career. Now all that’s left to do is wait and see if the rest of the album is of similar quality or if this is going to be another unserious album with one genius moment and bunch of average songs.

Kintsugi, is this Margaret? jackantonoff on Twitter: "@BleachersD got a plan for that one … re working it. called margo now" / Twitter Has Jack Antonoff Released Margo yet? 🍅 on Twitter: "I’m speechless @jackantonoff. Cowardice aside, tonight was magic, and I can’t believe I actually got to hear “Margo” live. I love this band and it’s fans so fucking much and this was the best show I’ve ever seen. https://t.co/TwkBiAK3uE" / Twitter

The production on NFR was beautiful and elegant and it didn't sound like your typical background music to YouTube shorts or Instagram reels. Meanwhile, at least half of this new album is going to be samples Lana found while browsing random YouTube background music playlists. Good luck to Jack trying to make this work!

There are so many genres that Lana could tap into (rock, indie, folk/country, shoegaze, etc.) but I guess she decided it would be easier to log into her YouTube account and sample bunch of stuff from ''Calm and relaxing music for deep sleep, meditation, relaxation and yoga'' playlist'. It's also safe to say that Lana's idea of experimenting with music is adding random trap beats onto her songs (which would be somewhat amusing if we were still in 2017, but who wants to hear trap beats in 2022, especially on Lana album?). And some fans are convincing themselves that this is going to be another NFR moment for her... yeah right.

She's morphing into Kanye (both rollout-wise and music-wise). I'm fully expecting the next album to be gospel. She already got pastor on this one.

I'm not sure which fanbase is more insufferable. Lana fans, The Weeknd fans or Arctic Monkeys fans. Every new album cycle, we have to witness their mental breakdowns as they remind us (for the millionth time) how much they're stuck in the past with their one-dimensional ears.

I'm glad the insiders are liking the new album, but I need to hear at least 3 great singles before I even begin to entertain the idea of the album being a masterpiece or coming anywhere close to NFR. I don't like how by-the-numbers that Rockefeller snippet sounds - hopefully it's deceiving.
