  1. So what you're proudly admitting is that you're a one-dimensional music consumer who has a preconceived notion of what Lana's music is supposed to sound like. If it doesn't meet your preconceived notion, you just dismiss it. That's the worst way to approach music or any art and it's a very common trait among ''fans'' on this site. And that's why I often say that hardcore fans are the artist's worst enemy because they're the ones who try to put them in a box and constrain them. NFR is so popular because it's a great album. The strongest and most consistent album of Lana's career. There's no conspiracy there.
  2. Her describing this album as ''a compilation of older songs and a few newer songs'' is what should be killing the hype for everyone. It's going to be less original/lazier version of Lust For Life. Lana throwing a bone to her ''fans'' who are way behind and constantly crying for ''old Lana''.
  3. Now we know for sure that Chemtrails & Blue Banisters are mainly compilation albums of unreleased tracks & B sides, rushed out to get out of contract. I hope she takes a well-deserved break for a few years and then comes back with a real follow-up to NFR. I also hope that her quitting social media is not some kind of stunt. She doesn't need that shit. Just delete it for good!
  4. Lana's post-NFR career consists of instagram rants and half-baked albums filled with mediocre b sides and unreleased material. In other words, her career is going nowhere. That godawful ''run your hands over me like a Land Rover'' snippet sounds as if she is doing a parody of herself. Where has her ambition gone? She needs to take a break and come back with something fresh and compelling.

    Lorde

Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman that is stoned at the nail salon to have - but i have it.
  6. ''Run your hands over me like a Land Rover'' ... I broke into a cold sweat upon hearing these lyrics and they're still haunting me. Why can't she leave this bullshit in 2012 where it belongs? Just terrible.
  7. The new snippet is terrible. The lyrics are atrocious. Lana, I think consciously, is leaning into the worst aspects of her music to the point of parody. It's like she's determined not to be taken seriously ever again. Shame.
  8. Nothing against Jack, I just think Lana, Lorde, Taylor Swift, St Vincent, FKA Twigs, Clairo (and soon Phoebe Bridgers, probably) all working with him at the same time is overkill.
  9. Yeah, it's time to let Jack go. https://twitter.com/TheAVClub/status/1403381652118638596
  10. The mods need to channel their inner Kim Jong Un and start handing out a 6 month ban to anyone who dares to criticize Blue Banisters (one of her greatest songs ever). Enough is enough!
  11. Blue Banisters definitely ''borrows'' some influence and elements from a certain indie/alt-rock ''veteran''. Not that I mind.
  12. It's only been 24 hours, but I'm starting to believe that Blue Banisters might be her best single since NFR days. It's that good. I need some more time with it to see if it can beat White Dress. Text Book and Wildflower Wildfire while not perfect are still good. Text Book could've been a great song if they removed the drums and BLM parts. All in all, a pretty good showing. Not the hip-hop/trap disaster I feared.
  13. You touched the detriment, most of the friends I knew already had
  14. The term ''buzz track/single'' needs to be banned from music industry's dictionary. It's 2021, for fucks sake. This is like when they marketed Mariners, Venice & Hope as ''fan tracks'', as if those weren't the best songs of her career. Idiots.
  15. FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  16. The people that were having nervous breakdowns on a daily basis, for around a year when NFR got released (because it wasn't written and produced in the exact same style as Honeymoon or some other old album) are same ones now running around accusing Jack Antonoff of keeping Lana in her comfort zone. In one breath, they will go on about how they don't want the same old shit, then in the other they will write a fantasy novel about Born To Die 2.0 and suggest Lana should sing in her fake deep voice like she did 10 years ago. Literally everything they accuse others of doing, they're the ones doing it. When they attack Jack, they're deflecting and projecting. They themselves want to keep Lana in her comfort zone (cinematic, glamorous, high-production, melodrama-pop lane). It's hilarious how many mental gymnastics they're are willing to go through to mask the fact that they're hypocrites who are insecure about their one-dimensional taste in music.
  17. Another album thread turned into a giant circle jerk/echo chamber. A never-ending cesspool of horrible takes. The so-called ''fans'' leading a campaign to turn Lana into another Doja Cat or Dua Lipa because they have one dimensional taste in music. If it isn't strings/synths/guitar heavy melodrama pop, it's automatically categorized as beige, boring, watered-down or trash.
  18. Imagine writing off an album before you’ve heard it because of some stupid cover posted on twitter. Jesus Christ... can't get more shallow and superficial than that. Lana needs to send a big fuck you to her ''fans'' and leave social media for good. Just concentrate on music.
  19. The music is what matters, everything else is irrelevant.
