Her 'strategy' is to make music that she likes. She HAS ALL THE MONEY SHE NEEDS and has no interest in commercial success either. Drop this boring talk about her being a flop, she is where she wants to be as an artist and she's happy. Let it go. I personally think the tracks she's released so far are amazing, but that's a matter of opinion.

It's okay if no one agrees, but I've seen a lot of the songs of this album (released so far) to be Lana coming to terms with reality. Like she has finally realized her daydreams about her bad boys are not true. 'Dreaming away your life' at the end of Honeymoon the first track. 'I can't survive if this is all that's real' in HBTB. 'I lost myself when I lost you' although I do believe this is about grief it could also be a loss of the image of someone, the loss of who you thought they were, who you made them up to be in your head.

Also when you read Burnt Norton it's very metaphysical and dreamy. Talking about the concept of time.... I need to hear the rest of the album but I've noticed an undercurrent of dreams and maybe that's what Lana meant by surrealism.

I am a very straight male and I am a major LDR fan. I cant imagine not listening to her music. All of her music. But still, I haven't met another straight male that is a LDR fan
I think we are all closeted LDR fans.
I rarely listen to her songs in public. I've come to the conclusion that it is either because I am so protective and selfish of her, like I want her music all to myself. Or I just a little bit ashamed to let people know I like her music... such a dilema.
    Don't judge me

I know he's called Burns. But I've made the experience that people don't get who you are referring to if you don't mention Bowie, so I just restrained to calling him like that.
And besides, for having 43 posts you're atcing "shady" and "bitter" quite often.

I don't know why everyone is so negative towards the album cover because I think Lana chose it witg purpose. We got the Honeymoon Hotline from it which just makes it amazing right there, but even more than that with number 3 and 4 in the hotline you can tell Lana wants to take us on a tour of the stars. The music of this album has all been very mystical so far from my pov, and I can't wait to hear the metaphysical Burnt Norton in album quality instead of just over the phone. I feel like all her descriptions of surrealism, and future retro are tying together. And what if her song titled Religion is actually about space? I listened to the Origins of the Universe lecture and it had got me thinking... Either way I have loved all three songs I've heard and I think this may turn out to be my favorite album. Knowing Lana so clearly loves it too gets me even more excited.

Not many people have actually suffered a loss.... Death usually doesn't touch people until they are later in life, at least the lucky ones. And it's good for them, but they will never know/never connect to certain Lana songs in a way that people who have truely suffered a loss do.

I'm wondering - and not to be snarky or mean, but genuinely wondering - if people who think this is boring or dull have ever really suffered a loss. Not just a breakup, but a true, tear-you-apart, knock-you-down, no light at the end of the tunnel kind of loss.  Because I feel like anyone who has really experienced THAT kind of loss, or depression, will GET this song. It moves me so deeply, I can hardly bear it's beauty. Not boring at all. Slow does not equal boring, and I think that's something we tend to forget.

Okay so I haven't really seen anybody do this yet but I think predictions are fun.

Honeymoon- We already have heard it/know it's a slower song.

Music To Watch Boys To- I'm hoping this track is a little faster but still somehow incorporates dreamy tones, like all the tracks we've heard from HM do so far. Maybe it'll have a fast-slow-fast rythm and it's in slot #2 same as Off To The Races so that gives me hope too.

Terrence Loves You- Another slow burn track, I do like the jazzy influences and the longing you hear in her vocals. This is in slot #3 Blue Jeans so maybe one of the most epic I still love you tracks of the album.

God Knows I Tried- This is giving me Tired of Singing the Blues tease. It's in Video Games slot and Lana has mentioned it having a special place in her heart. Might be an iconic song. Hoping it transitions between TLY and HBTB well though. Possibly going from a slow to midtempo beat like West Coast.

High By The Beach- Muddy trap amazing track in the slot of Diet Mtn Dew.

Freak- Lana said this track will be sexy probably rocketing off of HBTB. Her description has got me more excited for it & it's in National Anthem's slot so maybe a future tour closer.

Art Deco- This is probably the last of the 'faster-ish' tracks before the interlude. If we're lucky enough to get so many. Ha. (I'm not a person who needs faster tracks tho so either way is fine by me.)

Burnt Norton (Interlude)- From what I heard off the Honeymoon Hotline I adore this track just as much as the other ones released. I love Lana's speaking voice.

Religion- I imagine this to be another slower track, maybe talking about her true religion being love or our ever expanding universe (since she seems to be obsessed with outer space lately) or maybe it'll be a play on words like someone said a few days ago.

Salvatore- Giving me Backfire tease. I'm excited to hear this track, I feel it could really go either way; fast or slow or medium. It's in the Million Dollar Man slot so maybe another 'jazzy' track. Give me those bad boy lyrics Lana.

The Blackest Day- Sounds like a dark song maybe even 'so dark it's unlistenable'. Probably slower, possibly more powerful than TLY in the sense that it would make you cry. Also in the Summertime Sadness slot.

24- Really intrigued with this title, it's position between TBD and Swan Song makes me think it might be slow but there's always the possibility it could be midtempo and what if it's a song that takes place over 24 hours or something? A song about her worst day followed by a song about her best?

Swan Song- Since this is a farewell song I imagine it to be slower. Am hoping it's a farewell to a lover or someone who died rather than to singing music.

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood- I hope this cover is better than TOW cover. I already like the lyrics better, I hope Lana does it well and that it fits her voice, and I also already like the background music of this original.

    Anyone else have thoughts?

I'm not directing this towards you specifically, just using your post as an example. I think people use the word "boring" far too loosely when describing music. I genuinely don't know what people refer to when they say "boring" because the meaning differs so much from person to person. I guess when people describe the songs Honeymoon and TLY as boring they mean "slow songs with minimalist production" or something similar, a type of music that rarely bores me. If I were to pick the songs that bore me the most right now it would probably be Cheerleader and Love Me Like You Do, but obviously a lot of people don't find those songs boring at all.

Of course some songs can be percieved as boring in some situations and not at all in other situations. For example, I think most people would agree that even if you love TLY you would be kinda bored by it while working out or on your way to a party. But switch these situations to a late night bus trip or watching the sun rise from your porch and it would serve you life on a gold plate.

Long story short: can we stop dismissing songs simply as "boring" without any elaboration? k thanks

I don't blame you. He said someone 'gave' it to him so that means he's not the only one who has it... And he's tired/won't post more snippets till tomorrow. I guess we'll see. I also think it's weird he didn't make a leak Tumblr but is using his personal. If he's not scared kf getting in trouble he's probably not planning on actually leaking.

I think it sounds a lot like the other tracks from the album so far. Especially TLY but I'm also tired so idk. Should still try to get info from the guy.

Fortunately I don't have those qualms about listening to it early because I'm a good little stan who already preordered.

but I don't think the leak is real, a month seems a little too early even for Lana. And people have only heard of it via Instagram, no rumors on ATRL or Tumblr.
