Lana Del Rey Named 4th Best Dressed Artist of 2013 By Billboard
Philomene replied to Foolish's topic in Awards & Nominations
With Google Image : http://lanadelreyfan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=350&pid=10656#top_display_media Anyway Lana has no sense of fashion, the only times when she is correctly dressed are when her stylist is here for her so he should have this award. -
"Papi is a gangsta I'm his little dolly"
-
That emphasis on Lana Del Rey's daddy
-
He is a hot daddy

This playlist is about a crazy Lana, the psycho bitch we all like 1. Pin Up Galore 2. Catch and Release 3. Maha Maha 4. Daytona Meth 5. Noir 6. Kinda Outta Luck 7. Serial Killer 8. Playing Dangerous 9. Blue Velvet 10. Strange 11. You & Me You can add Bel Air at the end and/or place You & Me by it, Body Electric could also fit as the opener instead of Pin Up Galore. You can also remove Serial Killer which doesn't fit very well sonically. So basically Lana tells us how much of a crazy bitch she is, that she's from a different world, maybe it's just a stage character she invented. With Noir, she totally goes crazy gangsta bitch, her boyfriend leaves her and she sings about commiting crimes. She lives through that persona she created in her mind, though she doesn't live that lifestyle (or maybe she does ). Kinda Outta Luck, Serial Killer and Playing Dangerous represent that violence. I like it that Kinda Outta Luck and Serial Killer are more upbeat. The different tones of the songs represent the different level of craziness she goes through. Blue Velvet for those who wached the movie can understand how it reflects craziness, too. Sonically it is a nice transition. With Strange and You & Me she calms down but you can still see this underlying disturbed girl. Bel Air can be the end for it, with Tropico we saw that she left with the aliens and found peace. The next playlist could be called Whole World's Girl or Miss America. I wanted to gather Gas Station and Driving in Car With Boys together, young Lana on the road with no fixed lover. 1. Raise me Up (Demo) 2. Driving in Car With Boys (Demo 1) 3. Mermaid Hotel 4. Queen of the Gas Station (Demo 2) 5. Let My Hair Down 6. Motel 6 7. Come When You Call Me America 8. For K Part 2 It start with our little Lizzy rebelling against her family and leaving with a boy "Just like you said, it's all been done before, I don't have to talk pretty for them no more. I can talk what I want how I wanna, I don't have to talk taste for you mama" Her journey with the boys she randomly meets starts, with description of her road trip and moments of intimacy (Let My Hair Down, Mermaid Hotel, ...) It ends finally with her meeting K and being dazzled by him. She knows from the beginning something special is coming which signs the end of her journey with random boys. I didn't want the playlist to have somehow negative undertones but as an alternative ending you can replace For K Part 2 by Ride and American.

Ugh, stop attacking Yoko and being so hypocritical. Saying she's slim is of course nice but that's not the case, she obviously gained weight. Yoko hasn't insulted her or anything. I don't know if we have the same standards in France and in America but this is obviously not a slim body in France and if you say otherwise you're just lying to yourself.

who knows tbh

She won't change her name, it would be like starting from zero once again and she's finally getting famous and her name known.
-
I know, but it's an important detail, as meaningful as the fruit being eaten.
-
The plans can be cut or they can wear beige underwear. It doesn't change the fact that this choice of making them wear leaves and flowers shows their lack of knowledge and understanding of the Bible. This might seem to be a detail but it's actually quite important, before eating the fruit they didn't need clothes. Tropico lacked a lot of subtility.
-
One thing that bugs me is the leaves/flowers they wear in the Garden. Adam and Eve are naked, it's only when they are chased that they decide to take leaves and cover themselves with it because they are no longer innocent and start to have desires therefore need protection.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O87w6D2VoIY The lyrics I like this bitch I don't even think she ever pretended to have talent.

Everything contributed to make Britney an icon, her voice, her music, her performances, she IS the definition of a pop star, the brightest representation of the American dream. Even her breakdown contributed to this.

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
Philomene replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
@@YouCanBeTheBoss I think that Put Me In a Movie isn't related to Mr. Campbell, to me it speaks more about how she felt able to do such things, her struggling to become famous. Lana said she has a perverse side she is very comfortable with. I am not sure that we can automatically assume any Lolita reference is linked to Mr. Campbell, Off to the Races has heavy ones and Lana said she always liked older men. She might have felt like a ~Lolita even a little bit older and we don't know every man she has been in a relationship with. Boarding School obviously involves Mr. Campbell "let's do drugs, make love with our teachers" 1949 is strongly linked to Lolita, in that case it involves a Pontiac. Tbh 1949 sounds more childish, I get K vibes from Every Man Gets His Wish, "every man deserves to see the sunrise" sounds like they travel before the guy has to leave for prison. Without you isn't a Mr. Campbell song imo, "living on the dark side of the American dream" sounds K like. He was involved in illicit activities and had a lot of money, it really matches this line. "Can you picture it, babe the life we could have lived" is easy, it could be her imagining the happy life she would have right now with her fame, money and the love of her life by her side and not in prison. K has left her mark on her forever (TV in Black and White, Blue Jeans, ...) Lucky Ones, well I start to see it differently after reading you but the line "It feels like falling in love for the first time" could be still accurate, Lana could consider the love she has for K as her first "real" love. But yeah it could be a Mr. Campbell song, even by its sound it reminds me of Prom Song. National Anthem is a K song to me, it has huge references to wealth and I doubt Mr. Campbell could afford that. The subject of this song is "the dark side of the American dream", idk it is pretty clear it's not about Mr. Campbell. Making assumptions that summer=Mr. Campbell seems wrong too, it's a time Lana loves not a real link to this relationship, unlike the ocean=K Do you think Dum Dum could be about Mr. Campbell ? "I'm a bright child, wild child" ; "You can't go to school today" ; "I just wanna drink" seem to be big mentions to her teenage days -
Maybe you should make the "NIGHT TIME MY TIME" a bright neon color ? And maybe make the black more powerful but that is your choice

Her strong voice (before the baby one more time era) seems to reappear and people who are not aware of her real voice are probably surprised. Yes it's clearly Britney and I love Passenger, it fits her so well and is soooo her style. I hope it will stay on the album, I'm sure I will love Britney Jean.
