That's so stupid of the article writer. Lana knew the type of record she wanted, and she made it. She wanted busy lush sounds, and Lorde wanted minimalistic beats. They made what they intended, and were certainly not aiming for the same goal. I am confused about how these two artists are supposedly targeting the same people with their lyrics. One is about coming of age and being a 'average' teenager. The other is about good girls clinging to dangerous lifestyles. What is the similarity?

VH1 has a a link to stream the whole album- hence now everyone is ripping the songs. On another note, this is one of the best single coherent albums I've ever listened to. Love all the songs except 400 Lux and Still Sane. I'm sure they will grow on me in time.

She doesn't have that many so you can easily listen to all of her released songs. From The Love Club- EP (where Royals is from) there is also Bravado, The Love Club, Million Dollar Bills, and Biting Down. From the Tennis Court single you can listen to Tennis Court and Swingin Party. And then you've listened to all her released materiel- wahla!

When I was 16 I was listening to Lana, Florence, and Marina. But I understand what you mean. However, it seems odd how Lorde doesn't like some of Lana's lyrics because of the male dependency they have, and Minaj's lyrics can be so trashy. Hopefully she'll grow out of it.

I don't understand how Lorde is such a fan of her tbh. Like really . . . I can see the appreciation in some of her productions but . . .

I absolutely love her lyrics. We are so used to listening to Lana, that we forget how it is to listen to such teenage oriented songs. Yes, Lana's are about youth, but really . . who here really relates to the bad girl lifestyle? For me, this is the beauty or Lorde's music. Her lyrics and sounds are so simplistic with teenage thoughts, and yet she makes them into something so beautiful. Cliques, and young love, and the longing for something more. Very Teen Idle, but with a fresh twist with sound and more hopeful than depressing.
