Depends what year you're talking about. Earlier 2000s they were definitely alternative, and those songs still get a lot of airplay. Now they are more pop imo

I'd even say it's less upbeat than Freak tbh

I did a google search to compare male and female alternative artists, this is what I got: Alternative Male Artists: Alternative Female Artists I rarely hear most of these women on the radio where as the male artists are given more attention and respect. Both male and female alternative artists have a depressing sound to them, but I don't see men suffering from that. Alternative music is a weird genre.

I so relate to this. People always tell me how sad and depressing her music is, when in reality they've only listened to maybe 2 songs lol. She's not that depressing, people just don't like to hear her so that's their excuse. If someone else was singing her songs, no one would call it depressing tbh, especially if it were a man. Sorry to bring sex into this, but when do people call a man's music depressing? and does that prevent him from getting played on the radio (usually alternative stations)? For example, the weeknd is pretty depressing, along with Death Cab for Cutie, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Vance Joy and so on. These guys get played on the radio all the time, but when it comes to women it's less accepted for some reason. Not saying that depressing sounding songs from women never get played, but women get less airplay in general, especially on these alternative stations (where Lana should be on).

Thank god for Collxtion II, it's doing it's best to hold me over before we get new Lana material.

I think I repeated the "White Mustang" snippet more than Cherry. It might be my favorite so far, I'm obsessed with it. I'm torn, I thought Cherry would be THAT song lol. I'm not fond of ranking songs on here, but I'm so fucking bored. Therefore, if I'm gonna rank what we have it'd be: White Mustang>Cherry>Roses Bloom For You=Love>Change>Daisy Chains>Lust For Life (LFL is growing on me little by little) ....Coachella didn't even make the list. Also, I never listened to BAR.

I've said this on LB before, but I was a Lana hater until I heard Disco (my first unreleased Lana song). After that, I knew there was more to her than meets the eye. BTD (the song and mv) seemed so superficial to me that I was outraged to know this song could be so popular. Her unreleased songs definitely redeemed her for me. I've grown to love BTD, but I still think the music video is superficial (also I loved OTTR when I first heard it, but that didn't get me hooked)

I've been listening to Collxtion II all day on repeat. Love it, wish there were more songs though

Y'all might think I'm crazy, but "White Mustang" totally sounds like it should be on the radio (at least the indie ones). Lana would be on the radio more often if she got more respect. Her lyrics aren't basic and relatable to the GP. However I can totally envision this song being somewhat radio friendly, which I haven't gotten from other songs that were released so far. I know we only have the snippet, but I'm replaying it like a motherfucker and I can imagine it coming on the radio while driving at night. Why can't every radio person be a Lana fan? I would listen so much more often

If you like Cherry then there's hope for you lol I was talking more to the people who don't like Cherry AND the new snippet since they both have a similar style (I listen to the KROQ performance daily too )
