  1. I hope so! Ultraviolence now. Love this pic I saw on Twitter: Edit: Old Money again
  2. So far: Cruel World Cola Body Electric Blue Jeans West Coast (which I can't wait to see the full version of, judging by the vines) Born to Die (live trip hop beats are back)
  3. Judging by the vines of the concert, her vocals are on point. https://vine.co/u/1070186261400227840 Also, I just realized how little of a life I have when I am sick on a Friday night. Living vicariously through Twitter Lana fans. EDIT: Body Electric now. I guess it's the same setlist from Mexico.
  4. Lana reminding us that her pussy tastes like pussy cola for the 1000th time now.
  5. She has started with Cruel World. Some bitch posted an IG pic with the caption "This is What Makes us Girls at Hollywood Forever!!" and I thought she was performing it.
  6. Yeah, they tend to favor quality with albums, but songs usually have to achieve a certain level of recognition as well to be nominated. I mentioned Shades of Cool's success because it wasn't even an official single and probably has less of a chance because it didn't get any kind of extra boost. I hope I will be pleasantly surprised, though.
  7. Shades of Cool is more than deserving of a nomination, but Lana's videos never seem to get the recognition that they deserve. I doubt it will get nominated...especially since it wasn't a successful single.
  8. I didn't think it was possible, but this forum just got even gayer.
  9. Tbh, Tropico doesn't even deserve a nomination.
  10. Tropico isn't beating Grammy darling, Beyoncé, for music film.
  11. Praying for Brooklyn Baby, Shades of Cool, PWYC, Black Beauty performances.
  12. Most of the rock competition went rock instead of alternative (and Coldplay went pop). Interscope cost Lana a possible win (and maybe even the nomination with how packed pop album is). Never would have thought Tropico would be one of her best chances for a Grammy nod.
  13. Still not over how ridiculous that category fraud is. I'm prepared for it to backfire and for her to be snubbed because of it.
  14. So, according to Robopop, the version of VG we have was originally intended to be a demo but released online and gained traction quickly. Then, "Music blogs took to “Video Games” and influential BBC Radio One DJ Fearne Cotton became enamored with the track. Within weeks the video soared to a million views and by the end of July of 2011 she landed a worldwide deal with Universal Music." Interscope came months after. A bit irritating to know this and then continually find articles by Pitchfork (who claim they knew months before October about her deal with Interscope) and the like saying she had signed with Interscope before the production of Video Games, but it was kept secret from the public. As if Lana was this huge label scheme. Also, just came across the old Complex article in which Lana lied about being 25 when asked, lol. My brain hurts from trying to get all of this straight.
  15. Thanks, everyone! Can anyone help with a concrete timeline of when Video Games was written and recorded in comparison with when she was signed to Universal/Stranger/Interscope Records? I've heard so many different versions of the story. I know she bought herself out of the 5 Points deal, went to London to search for new labels, and met Justin Parker, with whom she wrote and recorded demos for quite a few tracks. But where did the support of a label come in? Video Games was released online in June of 2011, and I know that studios had not been interested initially until it became a hit online, but had she already started to receive assistance from Interscope at the time? And just marketed as an indie artist? Or did Video Games' online success lead to the official deal? Thanks in advance! Edit: Found an awesome article about the production and release of VG! Also includes an in-depth interview of Robopop. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr12/articles/it-0412.htm Nice to know that the story Lana always told is true, especially after so many articles like this: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2011/nov/09/lana-del-rey They claim industry insiders told them that Lana didn't make her videos or write her songs and that she had been signed for months prior to the October date when Interscope claims to have signed her.
  16. Speaking of BTD, shout out to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVl4fG3x6uQ The final notes are incredible.
  17. Sitar and his flawless taste. Love the Chet Baker and Happiest Girl mentions especially. Only thing I would change is the Without You/KOHD. I much prefer the latter from Hamburg...it's gorgeous.
  18. Oooh, yes. I may need to edit my top 5. I forgot how great those performances were.
  19. Elle, check out the Body Electric performance from Berlin this year. It's as incredible (if not even more) as the one you listed.
  20. We have to make sure she beats that insufferable lizard-girl.
