  1. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed the Virgin Suicides allusions. While I love the aesthetic, I agree that I do hope there is more to the video in terms of variety of shots and locations.
  2. You guys really need to simmer the hell down sometimes. It's a preview and the aesthetic could be perfect for the video's plot. And when did we start expecting Lana to be conventional with glossy, commercial videos? I, for one, love how continually innovative she is with each new video.
  3. How long before releases does Noisey usually post teasers? I don't trust that s-word anymore.
  4. Wait Also, people are claiming on Twitter that the hand belongs to James Franco.
  5. I had a feeling this video was going to go in the cult-esque route. Imagine a video with a woman haunted by her past with flashbacks to her life in a commune with an abusive leader that she fell in love with. <3 The sepia would fit for something like this, but I do hope they mix it up a bit.
  6. I've always thought that Lana was inspired by commune living. Whatever experience she had with a guru in New York was likely a result of her wanting to emulate this lifestyle. I hope the UV video showcases Lana going full cult member and abused woman. It could be a brilliant exploration of 60s-70s underground culture.
  7. Although I think this was just a joke, I could see Lana going in this route, but in a more "Hawaiian Tropic," longing sort of way. She hinted that the next album would be jazzy as well.
  8. The music video is bound to be amazing with Nabil as a director.
  9. Does no one get the sarcasm in "sad/bad girl?" And the fact that she's playing with cliches and people calling being the other woman a "sad" thing to do rather than claiming to be a depressed girl.
  10. I'm surprised that she hasn't met James before considering the Harmony Korine connection.
  11. I loved Zane's questions that forced Lana to be a bit more introspective than usual...and he was very music-oriented as well. One of my favorite interviews.
  12. Also, "Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby Need you baby, more, more, more, more Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby Fucking need you baby, more, more, more more" She's being sarcastic/sardonic in response to this quote: "I listened to that Lana Del Rey record and the whole time I was just thinking it’s so unhealthy for young girls to be listening to, you know: 'I’m nothing without you.' This sort of shirt-tugging, desperate, don’t leave me stuff. That’s not a good thing for young girls, even young people, to hear"
  13. I hate that NYT is seemingly not doing an official review...could have been another very high score.
  14. Up to 75 after the 80 from Q Magazine was added. I think it will probably fall down after the 60 from Mojo is added (although there is also the 78 from Absolute Punk).

  16. I cringed when the song started playing.
  17. Great find, thanks! Update: 74 with 30 reviews in. To be added: Q Magazine-80 Absolute Punk-78 Mojo-60 I guess the NYT isn't doing a review?
  18. Q Magazine isn't letting me log in to purchase the latest edition. Can anyone else try? Make sure you get edition 337!
  19. HDD reports that Lana will debut at #1 with 182,000 copies sold. No promo or hit single. First female to debut with 100K+ this year!!
