What? There are many films, books, etc. that touch on devastating subjects without endorsing them. Lana has given a voice for oppressed women through her work and I don't see how this video is any different. You can see the pain on the character played by Lana's face.

The Coachella performances of Blue Jeans and Summertime Sadness deserve places here as well. And the Frankfurt version of SS...gorgeous.

I was the gay male version of Carmen a few years ago as a teen. I don't drink anymore either, so I relate to a lot of the reoccurring alcohol motifs in her work as well. I think we see the world from very similar perspectives with a strong, perpetual dichotomy of beauty and melancholy. I love the fleeting, haunting moments from life that seem simple in the moment but stand out in retrospect.

I paid $1000 (including hotel) to see her at Sweetlife this year and it was worth every penny. I can't wait to see her again...and to save at least a few dollars this time around since a friend's mom lives near the venue and we can crash there.

There's also very little depth to the majority of her music. It's catchy pop music, but nothing beyond that.

I went to that festival and my friend (sassy geh male) had to yell at the flower crown tweens to stop pushing and cutting a line because they were close to knocking a large wooden fence over. They got dead quiet...he verbally scalped them. He is my bodyguard again for the VA show.

Wow, it's gorgeous. I love how the song grows as the character's emotions becomes increasingly volatile/vulnerable and then explode in the final chorus. Her vocals are incredible.

One of the film reviews or initial articles on the song said the song had a "big eyes, big lies" chorus, though.

The fact that I'm putting more effort into this than my grad school applications.

What genre do you guys consider this to be? As with any Lana track, it could fit so many. It's almost like a mixture of baroque pop verses with a dream pop/indie rock chorus.
