I love that she didn't go pop for the soundtrack (like another singer we know), but stayed true to herself. It's very Paradise-esque.

I think she just wrote them with the film in mind so they're less "Lana-esque." She's a smart writer...I don't think she had much help in making these more conventional.

Grammy noms are announced on Friday.

Soundtracks are usually released a week, or so, before the film so we will probably have at least the lead single around the first or second week of December. They will want to campaign it for awards as well.

Harvey Weinstein is backing it and the songs are featured at key moments. I doubt they would snub her after the Young and Beautiful debacle last year. THR even seems to think that she has an outside shot at a win. I'd love to see her perform at the Oscars.

I feel really bad for her, actually. She's tricked into thinking that she's in a safe place with a journalist and then they go and write a passive-aggressive article with the same kind of vitriol that she's been a victim of since her first taste of fame. That slander she constantly faces is also something that they took the time to point out in the article before contradicting themselves and producing their own version.

Is there a physical release date yet?

It would have been 70s rock-esque a la Angels Forever. I think it would have been too monotonous and derivative of past music. I'm glad Dan made it more dynamic. I'm hoping that she continued making dream pop or blues rock, but covers new lyrical themes.

We went from thinking Lana was dead to getting two new songs from a big film and a major magazine cover in the same month. This bitch is always fucking with us.

I didn't disregard any contribution by past feminists. I said that people stereotype feminists into that image of bra burners to claim that feminists are solely women who hate men in an attempt to discredit their accomplishments and perspectives. Reading saves lives.

So, other types of people aren't allowed to add to this discussion in defense of women? What a ridiculous sentiment. People like you are the biggest factor in the perseverance of inequality.

I'm a gay man, so... I'm just making the point that feminists are not this stereotypical image of man-haters. They're just people who believe women deserve equality.

Actually, that is what feminism still represents. Man-hating bra-burners are not what the feminist movement is all about no matter how often the sexist members of the population try to perpetuate that image.
