Needed to drop this somewhere... Norman Fucking Rockwell! Lana Del Ray Ultraviolence Born to Die Lust For Life Honeymoon Paradise NFR! is undoubtedly Lana's greatest album it is so excellent and is a mix of everything that has made her past music great and even more eccentric and less commercial. -

With the album reviews, a few outlets have credited this photo to Pamela Cochrane. So are we ready to discuss at length how lana's only press photo for this album is taken on an iPhone by her make up artist on the set of her music video. Which honestly I don't care about at all because she looks like a total bombshell....... I hope there was a photographer on set and official photos eventually emerge (they won't.) -

Wow I love this as the conclusion to the album After now hearing the album it honestly fits the album perfectly and more so than the official - even though the official is better. -

I think that How to Disappear is the most conventional song on the album in structure and rhyme pattern and lyrics. That's why I loved it so much from first listen at the apple event but I appreciate they tried to like "subvert" it or whatever. They definitely made it like weird just for fun. -

How to Disappear is weird I like it. You were all complaining the album was going to be full of plain piano ballads beforehand and they turned it into something totally leftfield. I feel like it was inspired by Sublime. Especially that short glockenspiel (?) sample that plays a few times. I like it! and I don't get the jingle bells thing. I think of it as a tambourine. Sure the choice is weird but whatever -
I read Alexis's review and can't disagree with it LMAO but clearly we just have different tastes. I think he has far too many negative preconceived notions about Lana and he has already decided what the themes of all of her song are. And I don't think it's a negative thing for an artist to stay relatively within their own world when it is SO different from everything else others are doing and if it's similar it's because they've copied her LOL. IMO the review shouldn't focus on what she has done in the past it should review the latest body of work in isolation.

I had no idea people were still pretending When I Get Home was good. That "album" sucked SO much and left 0 impact

I think Bartender was totally inspired by Scarborough Fair and the chorus melody is so simon & garfunkel -

I also feel like because we've had some songs for so long it's easy not to comment on how fucking good they are. Mariners is EXCELLENT as is Venice Bitch and hope is a dangerous thing. FUCK!! They hit different now -

THAT OPENER. Norman fucking Rockwell such a fucking amazing song. Album is brilliant she continues to do whatever she wants and has no concern for doing anything other than following her convictions it is so endearing. Who the fuck is making songs like Bartender in 2019. How can anyone who makes songs like that be this popular and successful???? She wears her influences on her sleeve with no pretences at all and that's what makes all the references etc work. Seems like she is in a place in her life where she has fully reflected on any hardships she has had and she has this new humour that isn't present at all on her earlier albums. I think this album has the most of her personality in it. She wins again!!! I have been here for a reconciliation with Barrie for a hot minute they were such a badass couple I didn't think it would actually be possible. He was with her during the most bizarre times of her life through fame and how hard she had it in the media it seems it would be a lot easier for them to be together in 2019 where she has it so much easier.
