  1. It's very subjective, but I agree there's a bit of an unsettling vibe to this shoot, especially the cover, that I don't get from the "Kill Kill" outtakes, for example. For me, maybe it's because I don't think the cover photo is that flattering even though it's revealing? I don't really blame Lana. It's probably difficult to ascertain how photos will come off while you're being shot. But I do find it problematic on GQ's behalf. I couldn't agree more with Monicker on that point. @TrailerParkDoll (forum user MissDaytona I believe?) posted this link on Twitter, which I think really says it all. Now I'm probably going to trash whatever feminist cred I might've garnered with this snarky, juvenile, and objectifying observation: I don't understand the fuss about the "boob-grabbing" picture in particular-- she has no boobs to grab! (Aw, don't hate me. I'm sure I wasn't the first to think it.)
  2. From what I understand, producers don't respond very well to constructive criticism from cranks on forums.
  3. Anyone know what the time frame for eligibility was? Perhaps "Blue Jeans" was released too late for consideration?
  4. You're right. LDR.FM was god and CG the mother of god. (Where's that bowing down emoticon when I need it?)
  5. Have you ever seen a dead man? Seen a dead man lying in the road Have you ever heard his best friend? Heard his best friend say you'd better go Have you ever seen an old man? Seen an old man living all alone Have you ever heard an old man? Heard an old man hear the way he moans? Also, "its" should be "it's" and "i've" should be capitalized.
  6. When you think you’re over me and Your bad baby's dead and gone (Remember) I’m the ghost in your machine, I’m your real life suicide blonde (You think that) You’re in love, You’re in love, You’re in love, Well she might be here Might be hard, But baby she’s not me And is it "Might be hard" or "Might be hot"? I'm not sure. It’s me taking over you, Throwing you a curve ball, Reminding you of our true romancin’. Just like the first time you learned to dance and I showed you all those moves she can’t do. She’s not me And finally... It's "In her Kiki Montparnasse". Explanation here. Kinky mom pant ass. Wow. MILF alert. Best misheard Lana lyric ever.
  7. I've always heard "cherry Coke". "You send me right" doesn't sound quite right. And it sounds more like "I guess I'll see you never" to me.

    Yayo

There's a few mistakes in the lyrics here. You should copy them from where Lana herself posted the lyrics once. You can't play the video, but if you go here and maximize your browser, and then click on "More Info" in the upper right corner, the lyrics appear. Rahh! Also, I remember seeing a screenshot someone took of her posting the original "Yayo" video on Jimmy Gnecco's wall on Facebook with the lyrics and a note saying something like "For you Jim
  9. You've got a typo in the title. And the lyrics for Lana's part are: "[The minute you] walked in the joint I could see you were a man of distinction A real big spender Good looking, so refined Say, wouldn't you like to know what's going... Big spender!"
  10. Great work you guys. Now we just need everyone to work together to post corrections. I see a LOT of wrong lyrics here unfortunately.
  11. Thank you! I'm glad someone agrees with me. Perhaps this could just be a subsection under "News and Discussion" instead or even just a thread? While I'm at it, I think "News and Discussion" should just be called "News" (it's a forum, discussion is implied) to be consistent with the name used in the "General" section. I agree. Moving it to the "General" section would also allow people to post fan art of other artists as well. I tend to agree with this as well. This was a mistake made at LDR.FM that seemed like a good idea at the time, but caused a lot of headaches in retrospect. However, I do think it would be useful to have a place to discuss the different albums as a whole (Sirens, AKA, and Born to Die). And I think it would be useful to have a section devoted to shows she did before she/"Video Games" blew up. (Note to admins: I'll be PMing you about that soon.) It could also be useful to separate photos this way too. But I don't think there was much value in past attempts to try to classify unreleased songs that never made an album as belonging to either a fuzzily demarcated "Lizzy Grant era" or "Lana Del Rey" era. Determining when they were written and/or produced and organizing them chronologically may be useful, but I think it's best to lump them together and think of them all as Lizzy/Lana songs. We're not forum newbies here. We were prominent members of LDR.FM. Perhaps we're guilty of trying to get you to remake this forum in it's image, but our suggestions are based on what we did and didn't like about that forum, what worked and what didn't.
  12. I didn't see how you could either. I PMed an admin about the thread in question.

  14. Yes, a chat section and a media section would be nice. I'd also like to see a place to discuss past shows (perhaps rename "Tour" to "Shows"?) and a designated place to discuss albums as a whole. I don't see the point in having separate "News" and "News Discussion" sections. It seems redundant. I also don't think "Charts and Sales" is important enough to have it's own section. Finally, a feature that I really miss from LDR.FM was a feed near the top right that showed members' recent status updates.

  17. "Break the Cycle", "Epiphany", "Jonah", "Little Angel", and "Lullabye" are completely erroneous titles. They're registered to an Elizabeth C. Grant, not W for Woolridge. Additionally, I suspect there are numerous alternate titles on this list.
  18. Yes! We know one of the Elvis songs she covered was "Heartbreak Hotel". I also wish I could hear her cover of Brandon Wilde's "Love in Cars". Also, this is completely anachronistic, but I would love to hear a Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena cover of Lana's "Body Electric".
  19. Just as long as that fan isn't you!
  20. I still suspect there's a full Lana cover version of Shirley Bassey's "Big Spender" lying around somewhere.
