Ugh, it's so hard to choose considering I fell in love with Lana's music because of how sexy and sultry her voice is (except on her poppy girly-voiced songs like "Paris" and "Puppy Love"). But here's what I'd pick out of songs that have leaked so far: The intros to "She's Not Me", "Kinda Outta Luck", and "Kill Kill". Also, the choruses and bridge on "Kill Kill". "Yayo" for the sense of longing it conveys. "Go Go Dancer" is just so fucking hot. But "Come When You Call Me America", "Playing Dangerous", and "Burning Desire" would be the absolute essentials on my sex jams mix-tape. So seductive and sexy.

I want my cake and I want you to eat me out too. Shouldn't this be in the "Lolita" lyrics thread? You of all people Monicker.

In my day, people only had their eyes glued to a screen during sex if they were watching porn together. #oldmanrant

She also mentions "golden grill" in "Velvet Crowbar" and supposedly there's an unleaked song called "Golden Grill". But what's going on with her just watching TV while she's letting him touch her? She also mentions the intersection of Hollywood and Vine in "Burning Desire". Silicone and collagen. Next question. *rimshot*

The still used for the stereo mix YouTube video makes me wonder what auto-tuned animal noises Emile Haynie would have put on an album entitled Pet Sounds. Or imagine "Good Vibrations" with auto-tuned loon instead of an Electro-Theremin. The mono mix brings back memories of when I first fell in love with pop music during my oldies phase in grade school. After I'd go to bed, I'd turn on my crappy alarm clock radio just loud enough to hear it well and just quiet enough to avoid my parents' detection. I'd listen late into the night, marking off songs I'd heard on a Top 1000 Oldies list printed on an advert in the local paper for the oldies station, checking them off one by one by the light of a flashlight hidden under my pillow. Ah, memories...

Yes, but wouldn't you agree that your surprise and amusement would be less without the personal connections to Lana? (Not that you wouldn't find interesting any song that shared the same opening riff.) The point I'm trying to make is that the line between analyzing her music and her personal life is not always a bright one. And that is even more true for those of us who take as great an interest in her lyrics as the music proper.
-
And I thought you said you had no interest in her personal life or putting the puzzle pieces of her past together.

But if we must, what's wrong with "Lana fans"?

What? Really? I think you have the wrong thread. The "Unpopular Lana Opinions" thread is over here.

Lana Del Rey predictions for the 2013 Grammy Awards

I did this too (until I hid it). Unfortunately, it had a very different effect on me than Maru probably experienced. -
Someone should make a mashup.

No, I couldn't see it. And I tried lots of password possibilities. But I'm guessing it's probably the audio or video for the demo version of DMD.

My vision is complete.

Yeah, and the Summer of Love was 1967.

I'll ask the impolite question: Do you think Lana ever fucked a teacher?

Arthur Lynn was the lead singer for Angiescreams, which at least partially shared (if not completely) the same lineup as the Phenomena/Rich Whores minus Lizzy. These two posts from a blog of his are very telling to me.

I prefer the terms "dark paradise" or "garden of evil".

It's just official recognition of our #TeamLanaElite status.

Yeah, why aren't the DIY videos in this poll?

These may sound funny out of context, but in context, they're what makes her live performances of MDM so great. The studio recording could have used more moments like these to be honest. :imbeingsarcasticbitch2:

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
evilentity replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
Let me follow up on one thing and then I'll make a post about one of the people you mention. But give me a little time. -
Ditto. Yeah, I got a kick out of that too. Another commenter on that page posted this video of highlights from a 1994 documentary about Wildwood, NJ, which is very AKA-era Lana:

"Neon Gold" is a reference to Neon Gold Records, a record company that Lana apparently worked with. I'd be a little surprised if she would have named the song that though. Why do you ask?
