  1. Yes, but wouldn't you agree that your surprise and amusement would be less without the personal connections to Lana? (Not that you wouldn't find interesting any song that shared the same opening riff.) The point I'm trying to make is that the line between analyzing her music and her personal life is not always a bright one. And that is even more true for those of us who take as great an interest in her lyrics as the music proper.
  2. And I thought you said you had no interest in her personal life or putting the puzzle pieces of her past together.
  3. But if we must, what's wrong with "Lana fans"?

    Summer Of Sam

What? Really? I think you have the wrong thread. The "Unpopular Lana Opinions" thread is over here.
  5. I did this too (until I hid it). Unfortunately, it had a very different effect on me than Maru probably experienced.
  6. No, I couldn't see it. And I tried lots of password possibilities. But I'm guessing it's probably the audio or video for the demo version of DMD.

    Summer Of Sam

Yeah, and the Summer of Love was 1967.
  8. I'll ask the impolite question: Do you think Lana ever fucked a teacher?
  9. Arthur Lynn was the lead singer for Angiescreams, which at least partially shared (if not completely) the same lineup as the Phenomena/Rich Whores minus Lizzy. These two posts from a blog of his are very telling to me.
  10. I prefer the terms "dark paradise" or "garden of evil".
  11. It's just official recognition of our #TeamLanaElite status.
  12. Yeah, why aren't the DIY videos in this poll?
  13. These may sound funny out of context, but in context, they're what makes her live performances of MDM so great. The studio recording could have used more moments like these to be honest. :imbeingsarcasticbitch2:
  14. Let me follow up on one thing and then I'll make a post about one of the people you mention. But give me a little time.
  15. Ditto. Yeah, I got a kick out of that too. Another commenter on that page posted this video of highlights from a 1994 documentary about Wildwood, NJ, which is very AKA-era Lana:
  16. "Neon Gold" is a reference to Neon Gold Records, a record company that Lana apparently worked with. I'd be a little surprised if she would have named the song that though. Why do you ask?

    In My Pants

    Burning Desire In My Pants
  18. Hawaiian glam metal or surf noir
  19. "Once you label me you negate me." -- Kierkegaard
  20. This video just confirms my belief that she should have fans do all her album art.
  21. Yeah, why isn't she the one giving the "Go!" signal?
  22. It's not like anyone would be that hard-pressed to find a song about driving in Lana's song catalog.
