Okay, so I listened to this song for the first time and the second the song started playing it instantly reminded me of this song, am I only one who heard that?
 
 
I think it's a fun and cute song in general, like I don't know for gym or parties or H&M stores but I can't see myself listening to it oftenly. My favorite part was the chorus, I kind of warmed up to the sped up vocals and the beat but I did not like the lyrics at all, I'm so sorry.  I know that the message was good and empowering but I found it a bit too cliché. The production was kind of like is Froot and Love + Fear albums had a child, perhaps I expected a clearer production.
 
But YouTube comments compared this song to The Family Jewels sonically and/or lyrically although I do not hear any kind influence from that era.

i dont get the 143 comparisons. at all. as someone who unironically listens to womans world from time to time, they are not the same lol. womans world is sort of embarrassing since it lacks three quarters of lyrical content compared to butterfly under the writers of 6 names. even tho the chorus is annoying, theres genuine effort in butterfly, thats all im going to say.

I actually like the song, I even don't mind the kids bop part
But I had a rough week and this was a very needed uplifting listen
 

It's not bad. It feels like Superstar and Blue. Lyrically, the same Marina True Colours x No More Suckers x True shit over and over. Which is kinda OK but a terrible choice for a comeback song and i hope the album as a whole doesn't sound this uninspired.

I'm sure there are better songs on the album, but this isn't bad, the lyrics are just nothing new and the song is very L+F imo (not a horrible thing bc I think it gives handmade heaven and that's one of the best from L+F)

Am I only one here who absolutely loves Handmade Heaven? I think it was an excellent choice for lead single during LF era

Some of you are acting brand new, she wont repeat EH end of discussion, but this is where her music is now and at least it has more life to it than L+F

My goodness some people need to lay off this woman, much as I agree with the points about her losing herself to the bubble of rich LA celebrities. She's been horribly ill for a long time and to our best public understanding, was in an abusive relationship for years and years. I don't enjoy all the directions her newer music takes and some of her art lacks soul, yes, but I really don't think we need to be this harsh on someone who has struggled this much for this long. And as much as L+F was mostly a flop, it is very clear to me that record was born out of a desperation to hide the abuse and illness she was going through and it breaks my heart that instead of seeing that album for the cry for help that it was, people just took to mocking the superficiality and subpar lyricism of it. I don't know how someone could listen to that record without getting chills from how obviously it is coming from a victim of abuse. I'm not saying anyone has to like the music but have a little grace for a suffering woman, goddamn.

The whole song is fire and anybody pretending like The Weeknd ruined it is bugging lol but I know why
