  1. I actually had an ad for A&W pop-up on behalf of Interscope Records on my IG yesterday. I laughed and said "Promo!!!" Also, I've decided pink is the main color gurl of this era. The Rolling Stone shoot solidified it.
  2. Yeah, outside of music videos and a TV performance, I'm not sure what other promo y'all would want? We have live shows coming up, multiple magazine shoots and interviews, the Billboard Women in Music appearance, two singles out, 6 vinyl variants, 5 CD variants, 5 cassette variants, new merch... I'm not even worried about the music videos because I'm sure she has something in the works. And the cherry on top, of course, is the brand new, 16 track, 80 minute album (released less than 1.5 years after BB). We are being fed, even if the waiting game is rough.
  3. They've been giving so many albums 8.4 lately, I'm thinking she might land there or 8.5. But I'm secretly praying for 8.8+. Anything over 9 would be such a win for us and the culture.
  4. Believe me, I want it as much as anyone else here does, and I already think Ocean Blvd is deserving of it. But 10s are so rare, and I just think Pitchfork and other critics like not giving Lana perfect scores. Like how Alexis Peditris will always give her a 3/5. They like dangling it on a string, or bringing up QFTC and other shit to knock her down a few points. Some of the lyrics on the album + the Judah interlude might cause that here, too. That's just my opinion, though. And I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong!
  5. Posted this in the Rolling Stone Interview thread, but figured it'd be worth posting in here, too. It felt so good to read her intention of what BB means to her, because I've always been sliiiiightly confused by it, in an endearing way. Like, it was basically a brand new album from her, and not a compilation album... but a handful of the tracks are old recordings, there are multiple producers, mixers - it's just a total hodge-podge of an album. I've always viewed it as this sort of explanatory, messy scrapbook of an album crafted by Lana where she mines and muddles her current state with parts of her past/history. To have clarity that she sees it as (sort of) Further Listening, or a companion album to her discography for a deeper dive, or even just "One For the Hardcore Fans" is really enlightening. It wasn't ever intended to be this perfect, tightly-focused pillar album in her discography... It's a stepping stone, supporting documents, a "defense", explanation. Obviously, we were spoiled in 2021 despite everything going on and received two albums in one year, but I wonder if she considers Ocean Blvd to be the fully realized follow-up to Chemtrails after the side-detour that was BB (thinking of it as a map, I guess)? Anyway. I love when she talks about her albums individually because it presents them in a new light for me, especially as she continues to develop her discography. Every album has its place, and we're lucky to stan an artist who gives so much of herself as Lana does.
  6. I do not think she'll get a 10 on Pitchfork, but I am hopeful for 8.5+. 9.0+ if there's any justice in this world, but it would be hard for her to beat NFR for them, I'm thinking. Regardless, I'm excited to read what people have to say about the music.
  7. Re: BTD, I think she's just grown over the past 10 years. She's said in multiple interviews she loves the albums she makes, but it only makes sense that she would evolve in reflecting about them as time passes. Re: BB. I'm gonna write a lot for a sec, so bear with me. It felt so good to read her intention of what that album means to her, because I've always been sliiiiightly confused by it, in an endearing way. 8. That's the impression I'm getting since none of the other insiders have really mentioned/described it
  9. I wonder how @Kintsugi got to hear Candy Necklace but no one else has... hmmm~ If this is the case, she probably knows Candy Necklace is going to slay and make us crave for the rest of the material later...
  10. did she swap another song out with it? or did she add it to make the album longer than it was? just curious
  11. I honestly think Ocean Blvd could take my top spot, but we'll see... I love the newer stuff she's been doing most (NFR onward), even if BB was a little messy for me as a whole. 1. NFR 2. Ocean Blvd [?] 3. Chemtrails Over the Country Club -- 4. Honeymoon 5. Ultraviolence 6. Blue Banisters 7. Lust For Life 8. Born To Die 9. Paradise Genuinely love all her albums, it's crazy to think she's the same girl who released Born to Die and Paradise. She's just grown so much over 10 years.
