  1. Totally re: worlds The only album that felt like it had less of a vision or “world” than the others to me is Blue Banisters. That felt like more of a scrapbook, intentionally messy, old songs meet new songs, loosely retracing “karmic lineage”, etc. It’s interesting that she thinks NFR! and Chemtrails don’t have their own world. They seem very rich with vision to me. Even if she utilized a couple old songs to build it, it all fits and works under a very specific atmosphere. Ocean Blvd already feels like it’s own world, though. A darker, deeper dive into Lana’s mind (and probably still picking up the pieces after Sean based on the context around the first two singles). I genuinely believe her when she says it’s her most personal album yet.
  2. Not to be “that person”, but I’m really happy Jack came in and helped polish the album. It was sort of obvious she was working with guys who weren’t super trained or experienced with what they were doing on Blue Banisters. I still love that album for what it is and it’s character, but it’s definitely her worst sounding album, audio-quality wise. Every other album sounds so amazing to my ears, so I’m happy there’s more of a focus on that this time.
  3. that’s what I’m thinking now, honestly … spicy
  4. Lighter and jacket ordered. Hilarious that it's like $20 cheaper to order from the UK store with the discount code than it is to buy from the US store, where it's already being shipped from. Her team is full of scammers.
  5. yeah, this is seriously so lazy. her merch is always trash. but this jacket feels commemorative in a way so i'm like ... ugh. i might want it.
  6. I bought the lighter ... Decided to buy the jacket but my discount code won't work and I refuse to buy it without a discount. Your choice, Lana store!

    New Fans

I love anyone who loves Lana. I just hate when new fans discover her through BTD-era and then shit on her more newer work. (But I guess they're more open to adapting than the BTD fans who still complain about each new era after 11 years.)
  8. Hahaha. He laughed so hard when I read him the album tracklist, and even harder when I told him the original album title. He was like "Is she okay?" ... I was just like "This is why I love Lana interviews." He has taste, his favorite Lana track is White Dress, which I think is kind of odd/unique. The song he's looking most forward to is Taco Truck. I think it's interesting that a lot of people tie the "Jimmy jimmy coco puff" line directly to Nelly, and don't even realize it's an older song.
  9. My brother, who's not a huge Lana fan but is mostly just intrigued/fascinated by her (I'd say he's slowly getting into her music), called me today and mentioned "I listened to A&W this morning since you've been raving about it. It was interesting..." I asked him his review, he said "I got to the 3... 3 and a half minute mark and I just thought to myself... 'This woman is very unsettled...', like, you can tell she's been going through something for a very long time and it's coming to a head... She seems slightly unhinged... And then suddenly, the song morphed into industrial trap and she was rapping an old Nelly track. It was a lot. I think I'll need more time with it." I laughed soooooooooo hard. Lana, our queen...
  10. do u really think i give a damn what i do after years of just hearing them talking?
  11. I need to catch up, so this may have been posted, but I think "Watch Me on Ring" might be one of the titles. Ring is a home security system in the US. To see who's at your front door, or walking around your house, etc. If you're the homeowner you can watch people in real time live on your property. I was guessing the 6 titles would be - Did You Know That There's a Tunnel... - Pearl - Watch Me on Ring - Ring a Bell - Psycho - Lifeguard
  12. Idk. I love Jack’s production and his work with Lana. And clearly Lana does, too. So maybe I’m not the right person to chime in here. But we basically have a full album with him again, luvs, so… buckle up, haha.
  13. exactly plus, one of the things I love about Lana’s more recent music is how unpolished/raw it can be (and still sound good). Studio chatter left in, sounds of drumsticks being put down, laughing, sneezing, vape puffs… it’s just fun. When it sounds this good and works this well, it doesn’t have to be super polished. All the background noise and sound in A&W is really enjoyable and intentional , if you ask me.
  14. 100 plays already... The way that felt effortless... I'm done listening to the title track until the album's out, that one already has 316 plays. Gonna have to cut A&W off a few weeks early, too, methinks...
  15. I just don't know what to expect out of the Jon Batiste Interlude, really. But if I remember correctly BOZ said she sings on it and he wishes it were a full song or something? I don't recall.
  16. i had the same reaction, lmao. is it all in her head? because i haven't seen that at all..... but we love Lana promo. song anticipation ranking: 1. Kintsugi 2. Paris, Texas 3. Fingertips 4. Taco Truck x VB 5. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep sea-fishing 6. Margaret 7. Sweet 8. Candy Necklace 9. Peppers 10. Fishtail 11. The Grants 12. Judah Smith Interlude 13. Let The Light In 14. Jon Batiste Interlude her track 1s are always iconic, so idk why i'm not as excited for The Grants. i bet money it's going to be a favorite of mine.
  17. i haven't done a cartwheel since i was 9 i haven't seen my motherrrrrrrrrrrrr in a long, long time i mean, look at me - look at the length of my hair, my face, the shape of my body do u really think i give a damn what i do after years of just hearing them talking???
  18. I need to get excited for Let The Light In. Deep down I know it's going to be great, and FJM singing with her is going to be euphoric, but something about the title makes me zzzzz.
  19. I'm really looking forward to Margaret for some reason. Anything Jack and Lana do together is usually 10/10 for me, and it's 5:38, so I think it'll definitely be a sleeper hit for me. Lana's lengthier songs always hit different. For some reason I'm extremely excited about tracks 8-11. They're the ones I think about most.
