I don’t get the problem with Lana dancing or having dancers. It’s not like she’s dropped all emotion and is doing intense robotic dance routines. She’s just dancing a bit and having fun. Girl group choreo on the 60s was very simple and silly and fun and she was just doing that and having a good time. No she doesn’t need anything up on stage with her, but she wants it. I’d hate to see your reactions back when Bob Dylan first brought a band on stage lol. Everyone was like “oh he doesn’t NEED a band, he looks so silly, early Bob would never!” Let people have fun and enjoy their art. The passion and heart in the music is still there. Isn’t that what really matters?

People’s Parties to The Same Situation is def one of my favourite transitions of all time. The Boho Dance to Harry’s House is another one of my favourites. In general Joni’s For The Roses, Court and Spark, and Hissing of Summer Lawns are some of the best albums for songs transitioning into each other. And I still need to see the birthday concert. At the time I was kind of disappointed there weren’t really experimental musicians doing tributes because Joni would’ve loved that but I still need to watch it eventually.

If it makes it easier, Summer Lawns wasn’t considered beloved my the gp, so it’s definitely a treat. But if you don’t wanna run out of the best stuff so soon, take a detour into her 80s albums for a bit then take a step back to finish her best ones.

Tbh releasing some of her best songs in her career then taking forever to release the album is actually wise from a streaming perspective. Her already released singles have almost a cult following around them and the streams keep getting higher. Once she releases her album, those streams transfer over. Maybe it’s a loophole to release music different from the mainstream. Take longer to get the streams higher so the record label is satisfied and lets her keep doing her own thing. Might not be her specific plan, but it could be a bonus for her.

I meant the more recent ones like In your car and be stronger, by the ones from last fall when she released the singles. Like idk the be stronger video especially she doesn’t look like she’s in a promo mood.

Ok this might sound stupid but what if the snippets were never specifically for us or to tease the album? This sounds a little middle school, but what if she posted the snippets to share how she was feeling and to communicate with Chase? like we don’t know how good they are at communicating. I know it’s be inconsiderate to us, but idk maybe she’s hung up on her relationship atm. People do it all the time with songs by other people so why not with her own? Idk maybe I’m starting to sound crazy with this.

I always got the impression it was about Barrie. Doesn’t he have like a white mustang fender guitar or something? And his record dropped during the time Lana was writing LFL. Never heard the G-Eazy theory for that song lol. But really who knows haha.

Tbh she does seem like she’s getting sick of being a celebrity and just wants a balance of creating art and living her regular life. And I think fans harassing her constantly is probably making her want to quit it all even more. It sucks though since writing and performing is her passion so she’s forced to deal with this crap to fulfill her passion. That’s why Joni Mitchell “quit” after almost every album but kept coming back. It’s hard to choose between your life and your art.

Born to Die This was so hard because I hate having to put BTD and AKA so low since they’re very lovely albums, but all her albums are amazing and some have to go at the bottom. Although my ranking probably changes slightly (sometimes drastically) from day to day. Also I have a feeling NFR will rank up in the top 3 with UV and HM, but I won’t know til it’s out.

Okay you think she’s unprofessional and don’t like the way she’s handled it? Well you’re not her boss, so luckily it doesn’t have to bother you. Her album will come out when it comes out and she’ll release news when she chooses to. As much as it sucks for us, we truly aren’t entitled to anything. Either wait or don’t. She doesn’t care.

And she doesn’t owe us anything. Lots of artist take way longer. Even Kate Bush who released very frequently early on like Lana started taking much longer a lot sooner, so we’re actually lucky. Plus look at all the unreleased stuff we have. Even Stevie Nicks (known for lots of unreleased stuff) doesn’t have that much. I can’t believe how lucky we are yet somehow we’re still complaining. She deserves a little time for herself and she doesn’t owe any of us an explanation. We’re not her friends. We’re strangers.

This makes me so sad. It’s sad how the people who supposedly love her most are also the most cruel. She deserves better.

Yes, that’s Joni! The man is David Hockney, he’s an artist. Funny things is when she posted that I was on this weird week of “Lana is literally modern Joni” and then that was like my confirmation from the universe haha. But I truly think lana’s career is gonna unfold similarly to joni’s. Maybe I’m delusional but I’m convinced nfr will be her Summer Lawns moment where everything changes and lots of people get alienated but the music becomes a whole other level and if that comes true, I’m so excited for her future albums. I could spend hours piecing together how similar Lana’s musical growth has been to Joni’s at the same place in her career lol.

Just scrolled through Lana’s insta video comments and they’re filled with tons of comments from fans about deleting comments from yesterday. They’re there now. It was definitely a glitch. But maybe she got enough of those comments to give her some ideas.

Lol sorry lots of people have been whining about how it’ll suck yet they’re still whining about its taking too long and I thought you were one of them. I just find the mindset silly and unproductive. Sorry for misunderstanding, I’m bad at jokes.

Anyone who likes the visuals of Lana’s old homemade videos and want a taste of Joni Mitchell live, her Shadows & Light concert film is really good. It’s even all on YouTube. It cuts between Joni playing live and archive footage and idk I think it would really resonate with fans of Lana’s old homemade music videos. Anyway, here’s a link for anyone who’s got an hour to spare.

Then why are you waiting around for it? You have Lana albums you like already that you don’t have to wait for. You can still listen to them. That’s the beauty of music. Why bother waiting for something you already decided you won’t like? Wouldn’t you be happier forgetting about it if it’s not your thing?

I commented twice earlier, neither about NFR. Both were praising the song. One was deleted instantly, one stayed til I refreshed a few minutes later. Then my friend commented something nice and same thing happened. I had to see if it was legit. It’s clearly not related to NFR. Maybe she’s just deleting them because everyone’s annoying the crap out of her. Who cares. It’s her instagram, she can delete everything if she wants. Sometimes I’m just in a bad mood and delete every comment I get even though they’re nice just because I’m like “seriously frig off I’m in a bad mood” but they don’t know that. It doesn’t have to be rational and I don’t think it’s album related.

I thought about this, like it took too long to finish last fall so she decided to wait a year. I hope the next single is Happiness is a Butterfly if it’s something already teased. I’d prefer something completely fresh. I’d want How to Disappear even more but I doubt we’re hearing the studio version til the album comes out. It just makes more sense that way. But who knows. I think HIAB though would be a good summer song lead single if the album drops in the fall.

Tbh I’m really getting the vibe it probably was automatic even if just for a few hours. Probably had nothing to do with nfr and just wanting some peace and quiet. Maybe regretting leaving comments open. Who knows. But if she’s removing comments unrelated to NFR too, how could it be about the album?
