  1. Personally, I don’t really care when she gives us fake dates. If there’s no pre-order, I don’t get hung up on release dates. It’s fun to pretend something’s coming, but I won’t be bothered that something doesn’t come when there’s no real indication of it. I’m not gonna work myself up and convince myself it’s a surprise drop then get upset when that doesn’t happen. I’m excited for the album, fake dates just don’t really affect me or my life.
  2. here’s the deal ‘cause I know you wanna talk about it…
  3. Jenny jumped into the pool She was swimming with Nikki Lane I srsly love this song so much I can’t even describe it
  4. Bob Dylan was the king of announcing projects that would never get released and Joni Mitchell was the queen of announcing an album then delaying it a hundred times. And both of them still released albums almost every year. Lana’s just carrying on that legacy. She’s unreliable, sure, but she still never leaves us without new music for very long and her work is always top quality.
  5. Someone should edit the White Dress music video with some clips from the 1941 film Moon Over Miami. It would fit so well. The film is about sister waitresses going on a trip to Miami to find rich husbands (as one does). Visually, it matches the song almost perfectly.
  6. Last August didn’t BOZ say he couldn’t see any reason why COTCC wouldn’t come on Sept 5th? Maybe it was someone else, but I’m pretty sure someone said that, idk. But then it didn’t come anyway. So just because this album seems ready for July 4th, it doesn’t necessarily mean Lana will release it then. But I’m all here for being delusional and imagining it will be a surprise drop.
  7. While releasing the album on July 4th is already so fitting since Americana is a big part of Lana’s art, I think it’d be really touching if she dedicated the album to the memory of Carole Landis and all the other women that Hollywood chewed up and spit out.
  8. Since Lana’s going for revenge (such a broad concept), I’d live for the type of energy in the song “Live Hard, Work Hard, Love Hard” from the film My Blue Heaven, specifically Betty Grable’s part. Mitzi Gaynor’s character would be like a stand-in for all the new young singers who think they can just waltz in and replace Lana
  9. The point was to focus on something you enjoy for once
  10. My post wasn’t directed at you, I actually agreed with all your posts! We’re def on the same page here. Mine is directed at everyone who repeatedly threatens to “unstan” yet are still constantly here whining about literally everything.
  11. Some of y’all should really just “unstan” already and get it over with
  12. With our luck, she’d probably just think you were excited for Independence Day and would say something like “me too!”
  13. People literally bought the album streams only matter for fads
  14. I was watching Road to Singapore earlier and Bob Hope wears a black sweater and white pants throughout the entire film and I swear he looked exactly like the guy on the NFR cover, it was kinda freaky. I don’t know if it was intentional, but Dorothy Lamour does wear her hair in a similar style to the one Lana has on the NFR cover, which makes me think it could be.
  15. Some of y’all will never be happy no matter what… Must be exhausting… Anyway, I think the singles are very promising and I look forward to seeing what Lana has in store for us.
  16. It’s a little disappointing that Summertime was released so long ago now because it clearly won’t be on this album but I feel like it would fit so well with the 3 singles (&Thunder)
  17. Imagine the meltdowns if Thunder isn’t on the album after we’ve become convinced it will be
  18. I hope the album is a little longer than that, like at least two songs
  19. If Lana’s gonna be referencing/quoting musicals, I’d love for her to repurpose the “I’m as corny as Kansas in August” line from the song A Wonderful Guy from the musical South Pacific because I often think about how funny and clever that line is and Lana’s always great for repurposing already clever lines from other songs.
  20. She references the song Maria from The Sound of Music. The line about catching a moonbeam in your hand.
  21. If Thunder really is on the album, I bet we truly are getting an album full of musical theatre references. Lana’s showing the world she’s not just our Bob Dylan or David Bowie, she’s also Irving Berlin!
  22. Now that Blue Banisters isn’t the title track anymore, I really hope it’s the album closer
