Neither disappointed, nor surprised that this is the first single, nor am I shocked at the direction she's going for this album. This snippet/single is just giving LMLYAW déjà vu. She's made it clear she doesn't want to take the grand/bombastic road again. Yeah sure once every blue moon she'll ask Jack to throw some beats in there, and he'll use his 2$ drum set to do so, but that's a whole other discussion. Anyways, she's going in the direction I expected her to, which is the organic, understated, stripped back route. She's a seasoned act, and this is her vibe now--and at this point in time, I'm at peace with that. I just wish she'd release this single sooner so we'd get over it quickly and just move on.

My point is that she's THE Lana Del Rey and she needs to stop acting like she was nothing before they crossed paths--he did not elevate her art to a so-called God-tier level all on his own, to the point where she cannot envision a future without him on board. She needs to give herself more credit, and also more credit to past collaborators. Jack Antonoff did not make Lana Del Rey. That's all.

She pretty much said "thank you for giving me my critical reassessment". She came across as insecure to me, sorry, as if she's clinging to him and that he must have a hand on her current and future endeavours.

Lana commenting on her lateness like it's nothing is sending me. This is the level of unbotheredness I aspire to.

She's been quite transparent in a lot of interviews about how she now sort of avoids making more grand, polished and/or cinematic songs (and I assume it has something to do with the criticism she received early on, but that's anyone's guess) and instead opting for a more stripped back, understated, minimalist approach—and that's her prerogative. However, it's getting a little repetitive, it's like she's trying to recreate an NFR-esque soundscape at every turn.

Her inability to ever come through on time needs to be studied

I would be hyped if the music sounded like Tough or that one song she sang at Fenway Park that everyone forgot about--but if it's anything like that dreadful "Henry, come awn" song, she can keep it.

I don't know a single person, except a few die hard apologists, who are in dire need or excited for this country alboom. She managed to kill the little hype it had. Might as well shelve the project at this point.

If she doesn't want her music to sound half cooked, mayhaps I suggest she'd work with someone other than the half-cooked-music man himself. Ultimately this album isn't coming out anytime soon.
