  1. the way I keep hoping they ship my cassette earlier, I wanna be cassette boi so bad
  2. People just need to stop hyperanalyzing everything she says tbh. She has said some questionable things in the past couple years, but there is literally nothing malicious about her approach. I feel like that will ultimately push her away from the spotlight, like you said.
  3. Petition to stop acting like personal opinions are personal attacks on your music taste and otherwise.
  4. Since we're on the topic of title tracks... Godlymoon > Ultraviolence > Born To Die > COCC > NFR > Lust for Life
  5. Yeah I agree. It's just that I feel like we've (or at least I feel like) heard enough of this subdued softness. Without falling into "oh I want Ultraviolence part. deux", I kinda wish the music would be a bit more hard hitting as far as instrumentation and production goes.
  6. I agree with all of that except when you say that the instrumentals build up throughout the song. The lyrics are good, and the melody is actually beautiful, but I wish the instrumentation had been a bit louder and not as subdued and soft. The song would've benefit from being a bit more bombastic and hard hitting in my opinion. After hearing the cover from that Australian band (that I can't remember the name, sorry!), I just thought to myself that 'COCC' honestly had the potential to be a more intense track.
  7. No tea no shade, I still like you, but you will also never hear things how I hear them. Let's not pretend like there is not much else to do but quoting each other about our different opinions and perspectives. It's been a little over a month since she dropped the track, it gave everyone time to listen, analyze and form opinions. Unlike what little miss @God&Monster I don't think it's a love/hate type of situation, like I said I love the track, there are elements about the track I enjoy, and others more or less. So what am I saying that's wrong? Besides 'COCC' is a much better, more interesting single than the ever so dreadful 'LMYLAW'.
  8. No tea no shade, I like COCC, but it appears that she came up with the title first then wrote a random song around it. Still good, but let's not pretend like this is her most intricate work to date just because she says "contemplating God under the chemtrails over the country club" and then proceeded to wax poetics about zodiac signs.
  9. There's something about Charlie that's just off
  10. Uh hello, I love her slow songs. Just because I don't know what song she swept under the rug years ago, doesn't make me less of a fan (hater) than you!
  11. If the shoe fits, you wear it sis. I don't care about your irrelevant opinions on Lana's 16384739 unreleased songs either.
  12. You already went off topic by bringing the "UV vs. NFR" debate in the COCC thread, don't stop on my account. ? I honestly have no idea what COCC will be about, to me 'LMLYLAW' sounded similar to lyrics on 'NFR!' imho, but the title track was definitely a bit more interesting and unique. With that in mind, I kinda feel like 'LMLYAW' was kind of the bridge between the two albums? I thought we'd hear more so called chaotic/dark lyrics on the album after the chaotic events of last year, but I don't feel like she is going to touch on that. Hmm, let's wait and see on the 19th before making any foregone conclusions.
  13. Well I wasn't shook. The album is still very middle-of-the-road for me, sucky production/mastering, palatable lyrics; disappointing, homemade/DIY visuals and so on. I guess this belongs to the "Unpopular opinions" thread, but I think that 'NFR!' is overrated, not a bad album, but like praising it as being the album in which Lana is on top of her art and she pushed the boundaries of music making and lyricism is absolutely hilarious to me. I also like how you think that 70 out of 100, while a respectable score, is like saying the album was rated as "great", whereas 70 is just "good". Lana was right, there is nothing to dislike about 'NFR!', it's the perfect, little, PR, palatable album that it was meant to be. There is no way 'NFR!' is a statement and/or controversial album the way her first three records were. I can't wait for 'COCC' to drop so we can see what critics really think of Lana and her art, and see if the label they stuck on her overnight, like she became "the best living singer-songrwiter", I honestly cannot wait to see if that was sustainable, if she lived up to the ridiculous hype and praise they have given her over one single album.
