I think people have simply seen better. I'll reserve judgment, afaik this is just on the website and not confirmed to be on the album itself.

Terms like "camp" and "hideous" are not necessarily interchangeable, not everything that is ugly is "camp".

I don't think that should be controversial--it is fucking hideous and the colour is ugly as well.
