To each their own, Rick's so called "plasticky" production is more pleasing to the ears than Jack's hermetic/understated sound. But you do you Jack Jared.

It's funny that you say that when it's legit become a thing/meme online where people beg their favourite artists to stop collaborating with him because he "ruins" their music/albums. I like that this album seems to be a bit of a melting pot of producers, because that actually brings balance and nuance. It could potentially be a bit chaotic, or lack cohesion. But to me that's better than another album where Jack is fully in charge, we've heard enough of the "Jack + Lana" sound. Rick is a fan favourite, Jack is not.

I'm fully convinced that there are people who became Lana stans overnight with NFR, who disregard everything she's done prior and will do after. An interesting POV to say the least.

If by nuance you mean making her sing in that half-hassed/half-spoken tone and making all the instruments sound inaudible and/or tinny; giving her music that incredibly dreary and understated atmosphere, then you're 100% correct. Jack added a lot of nuance to Lana's sound.

Her best lyricist/collaborator coming to save the day.

Hopefully Rick was brought along to make the instruments well balanced & audible this time around

exactly, people acting like Drew is a menace to Lana's next album is funny to me considering that Jack and Laura are lingering around, waiting to remove all traces of guitar, bass & percussions from LDR9

I just love how her old team worked on this look with her, seeing Anna and Pammy post about this on social media felt so right.

Yup. This is exactly why I think that while a song like "hope", while lyrically interesting, is a dud, it's boring, it doesn't make for casual listenings. I think the stream of consciousness lyrical style works on certain songs, like "Text Book", but otherwise it's not really the vibe I prefer from her. The "wordiness" doesn't always sound very melodic to me either tbh, it's kinda jarring at times, especially when it's paired with the faux-grand/understated type of production we had on NFR. I'm just cautiously excited for new music at this point.

They may not be super exciting or dynamic, but they're miles ahead, in terms of production, than most songs we heard on the Jack albums
