Lana at JFK Airport in Queens, New York - September 24, 2019
Rorman Nockwell replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
IKR why is her airport outfit better than her everyday outfits? I'm going to pretend she looks sullen because everyone knows about her awful new boyfriend and now the paparazzi will follow her everywhere to take pics of them. Don't @ me. -
I don't understand why she dyes her hair these glorious shades for like, three fucking days? Like, iirc the blonde above was only for about a week, and then she literally dyed it auburn earlier this year for the Doin' Time snippet and then changed it back after about 48 hours. Honestly, she should rename this album so it has the acronym WHY or WTF, not WHF.

But it can be really insightful. For example, we now know that Bartender definitely isn't about Chase, because of: "You bought me a truck in the middle of the night" Let's face it, the dude has only every said three words in two movies so he certainly isn't in a position to buy Lanz a truck. Or maybe it is about him, and that's why it's a sketchy, no-warranty, middle-of-the-night transaction, because that's all he could afford.

Everything else aside, she really shouldn't name a tour after an album and then only play four songs from that album. You don't have to be a stan to find that bizarre. I mean, if I was a casual fan who happened to listen to NFR and thought, "yeah! I'll go see Lanz on her NFR tour ... because I like X, Y and Z songs from NFR", I'd be WTF-ing at that set list. It's not that I want her to get bad reviews but nothing is ever going to change with reviews like that Rolling Stone one . However, even they acknowledged that the set list wasn't ideal. It's not unreasonable to expect a show on a tour named after an album to feature songs from that album. She needs to replace CH and TNC with NFR songs (assuming Adam and Sean won't be at the other shows).

Lana and the LGBTQ+ Issue...
Rorman Nockwell replied to WorstAmericanRecord's topic in Lana Thoughts
I wrote about this long ago somewhere here, and I'm going to bring it up again just to throw a spanner in the works. I'm pretty tired so I'm sure it'll sound incoherent and insane, but that's fine. In that interview, I think she sounded almost hopeful when she said about finding out that there are straight men who like her music ... I'm not sure her fanbase is what she envisioned it to be. She spent a lot of time and effort crafting a "fuck me" persona early in her career, which obviously wasn't geared towards women or gays, but that's what she ended up with. I'm not saying she expected a fanbase of all straight dudes, but I feel like a lot of stuff she used to do encouraged it. I don't really have a point; it's just more of an observation. -
Yeah, both of the duets were really good. Does anyone else agree that she seems far more relaxed and confident when she's singing with someone else, than when she sings alone? It makes me think that the issue is some sort of stage anxiety rather than laziness. Maybe she just feels really anxious when the focus is solely on her ... more pressure and all that ... but if that's the issue, she should get professional help with it. Yes, attendance at her shows is still good, and this one sold out ... but performing should be something that's enjoyable for her and I'm not sure that it is. At least, not all the time.
