  1. I don't think you meant anything negative by this post, however, I really don't think the argument that she never sang about her family like this until Chemtrails is necessarily valid, and personally, I don't really think that the point makes sense. I have no issue with people not loving familial lyrics. That's totally fine because everyone has their own preferences and tastes, but don't pretend like you're making objective statements based on opinions. Also, when has Lana ever written a lyric like the one you gave an example of? The most she's ever done in the vein is mention Chuck by name in Blue Banisters, which she actually also does in Motel 6 as far as I know. It's nothing new and I really don't understand the weird aversion people have towards Lana's family. Anyways, back to the album: I personally am really looking forward to the rest of this album's lyrical content. The two songs we've gotten so far are very powerful and strong lyrically. They manage to be this beautiful mix of metaphorical and blunt that just wows me every time. Lana proves time and time again that she is an incredible writer. I'm still not over the writing on the title track honestly. I'm just so excited to read the words to these songs and dissect them
  2. I'm so obsessed with her TikTok era actually. She's one of the only celebrities I actually think does it well because she's just being authentically herself
  3. His production is actually so beautiful Talent runs in the Grant family
  4. I need to see that video of Rob with the NFR intro in the background But to be serious, the way Lana talks to Chuck is so sweet
  5. On a serious note Lana recording and releasing songs with her dad for his album is actually so cute
  6. Paving the way for nepo fathers everywhere
  7. His song titles are so good wait a minute Here for Rob's debut era
  8. Fantano tends to focus on Lanas appearance and personality when reviewing her music as if that has anything to do with it (which it doesn’t), so I really don’t care what he thinks In terms of what I think the critical reception of this album as a whole is going to be, I really do think it’s going to be a mixed bag. This album is seemingly so diverse in terms of its sound that I wouldn’t be surprised if some critics don’t love it just because it’s not what they expect from her. But with Lana, I think it’s always best to expect the unexpected
  9. All I'm gonna say is that if Target accidentally ships my copy of the album on the original date it was going to be delivered, I'm not gonna complain
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if this album is a career defining moment for Lana and her discography. Each day that passes, my anticipation for this album grows larger and larger
  11. Not at all lol. It's really just a lyrical interpolation of this song that changes the lyric itself from "shimmy, shimmy, ko ko bop" to "jimmy, jimmy, coco puff"
  12. Omg congrats on the notice
  13. I have my whole phone on automatic dark mode, so my TikTok is in dark mode too (and I have an iPhone lol)
  14. Her comments are taking me out, I love her so much My current favorites
  15. I for one love the familyheirlooms comments
  16. Pearl watching the lifeguards on the Ring doorbell: I do actually really wanna know how that scrapped title ties into the album as a whole. It's way too specific to mean nothing
  17. I don't have an issue with critical opinions, I just literally don't care about either opinion regarding the Jack stuff personally and that's all I was getting at. I guess maybe I shouldn't have grouped anyone in with myself Sorry for clogging up the thread with this lol
  18. "Jack bad" "jack good" okay moving on because nobody cares anymore! We're getting the album in 36 days. Sweet has started to climb the ranks in my most anticipated tracks because of its placement between the two songs we have as of right now. I've also been thinking a lot about The Grants since we got A&W. I really feel so strongly about this album being a thematic journey that we get to go on with Lana and I'm so excited for it.
  19. None of the Sirens artwork out there is official because the album never got an official release. As far as I know, some CDs of it were made that people have that Lana gave to them and that's about it
  20. A&W isn't close to Born To Die sonically. I mean that in the literal sense of "they don't sound alike" lol. I don't get why so many people see that song as BTD Lana when, if it's anything, it's Lust for Life mixed with 2009-2010 Lana. I generally don't get the obsession with comparing everything Lana makes to her past records to try and grasp a set sound when that's simply not the type of artist Lana is
  21. A&W and the title track tie into each other so well lyrically. I'm really feeling out a set story/thematic journey for this album just based on these two tracks (as well as some of what Lana talked about in the Interview interview)
  22. Women using the word "raped" in songs is so powerful to me. I feel like it's something that a lot of listeners, particularly male listeners, may find jarring. But personally, I find it refreshing to hear an artist like Lana do it if that is the case. I think the mentioned subtleness of it is quite interesting, so it really could be maimed as well and I think the meaning of the lyrics would hold the same weight. Especially in the verse the word is used in. It reminds me a lot of Hole's "Asking For It"
  23. I'm really excited to hear how Sweet sounds sandwiched in between the title track and A&W now that we've heard them both
  24. My first thought at the "watching teenage diary of a girl" line was this movie honestly I also think the line could be more introspective with it being about Lana looking through her own teenage diaries, hence the "wondering what went wrong" line. This whole song is just so lyrically interesting. It feels very loaded despite the seeming simplicity
