Kommando replied to Jared's topic in Latest News
Wtf with him, he wasn't that harsh with Born to Die, I don't understand Lately he's been really pretentious so it don't really surprise me -
Videos for "Shades of Cool" and "Ultraviolence" Coming Soon
Kommando replied to Sebastian's topic in New Releases
So many videos, my hopes for a Korine video are now high again -
Alright I'm gonna calm down, We should not be fangirling about Liz Phair on a Lana Del Rey fan site BUT GUYSVILLE Pretty sure they gonna be better than the 2014 record from anyone's favorite indie rock band

My God untill today I've never met anyone other than me who listened to this stuff I like this new direction and I hope we'll get more tracks like this. I think Flipside and Guns and Roses were recorded during the same session, 'cause they're both only guitar with some drums on Guns and Roses, and it seems like they're produced by Lana herself. I heard that she recorded all her songs like this before she produced the record with her usual team, so I hope we'll get this demos
-
I thought the exact same thing , although for me Flipside sounds more like the Girly sound tapes

It was like 2 days before Born to Die was released (on my birthday ), and I randomly watched the Born to Die video, I was like "wtf with her voice" except for the "come and take a walk..." thing. But the visuals impressed me so much that I wached it like 3 times in a row, and the third time I completly fell in love with the song. Then i listenned to everything else, like "Yayo", "Video Games" and some stuff from AKA and "Video Games" made me a hardcore fan. (so then I stole in my mom's purse to buy Born to Die 2 days later )

The world needed this video Btw, the pool scene is gorgeous but it looks more like the amateur section of youporn than a Bond movie tbh

Physical Exclusive Bonus Track Revealed: "Flipside"
Kommando replied to Mind Melt's topic in New Releases
I kinda reminds me of some Bruce Springsteen songs, this type of rock music. Lyrically it does fit UV for me, even if the undertone is somehow different, it seems more mature, sadder. So that's why it may feel out-of-place, since it doesn't really fall into the narrative of the record. But I think it makes a perfect closer, and it might be one of my favorite songs from UV. -
Physical Exclusive Bonus Track Revealed: "Flipside"
Kommando replied to Mind Melt's topic in New Releases
Flipside sounds so lo-fi indie and kinda heartland rock, it's really good, it's going right in my phone -
Sounds like a lot of fun going on at home

Yeah French, I'll try to buy it Best Lana interview I've ever read
-
I mostly agree with what's said in the Guardian review, except for the way he interprets the lyrics, some people just need to calm the fuck down I also confess that the red dress joke is making me laught tbh Anyway I'm glad that Lana's new music is perceived as a positive evolution from her debute, 'cause that's what the girl and the world needed

Ultraviolence - Pre-Release Thread
Kommando replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
WTF I GOTT -
Yeah me too. I still don't know for Nina Simone tho. I don't think that Lana is the other woman anymore tbh, she had a 7 years long relationship and stuff, but maybe she was at one point. For the Ride monologue, I thought that "the other woman" was more about the girl that her family/friends/herself didn't want her to become, like another version of herself, you know
-
Yeah, she puts all her heart in it, and the instrumental is perfect
-
I only cried 3 times while listenning music in my whole life, and one of them was when I listenned to the second snippet from The Other Woman, I'm ashamed

Ultraviolence - Pre-Release Thread
Kommando replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
Well I think it's because the 1st snippet made everyone think it would be about Lana dealing with fame. I like how the song is really sarcastic but in the same time it's look kinda sad and disillusioned -
