  1. I can't with all these pop princess expectations yall have about her, it's not Beyonce board (tho we're all 17 years old gays) and thx to god, even tho she doesn't look like the grunge godess she could have become since UV, we don't have to cope with the ugly BTD lipliner anymore. Btw Francesco is HOT, i love the silly way his mouth moves, like some kind of black hole (tesla and space x teas)
  2. Lmao bitch isn't gonna release anything soon, she's at Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo's wedding in Italy. Dont have english links tho.
  3. The issue with the lyrics, while they're kinda boring and over the top, is that she said multiple times that the wants to emulate the golden era of jazz music through her songwriting. If you look closely, a HUGE part of the songs that belonged to that period of time have these cheesy lyrics about getting beaten by your man or loving a bad man stuff (ex : nina's version of Plain Gold Ring : great song, great vocals arrangements etc, random lyrics ; see also popular standards like My Man, although this one's lyrics are good). So you have to take this in consideration when thinking about all her stuff, especially UV : it's a very deliberate act, and not just Lana being so proud about these clumsy lyrics. Still, it's possible to inject the whole jazzy signature and mood with great songwriting, because there's also a great deal of beautifully written tunes (she did cover the other woman, which is an exemple of simple but great pop writting and character picturing). So idk we'll have to wait. I think there's also a lot of disappointment since Lana has already proven that she's a brilliant and versatile songwriter, so everyone expects more. And the fact that she keeps on this obsession of creating the perfect dark-night-jazz torch songs, when they probably already exist and won't be toped, is confusing.
  4. While the production is excellent, why are the instruments so low in the mix ; it reduces the impact of the song and it's kinda monotonous in some parts.
  5. Miles Davis is so boring like come on lana COLTRANE, still happy tho i wasn't expecting a jazz record anymore
  6. It sounds like the songs Lee Hazlewood did for nancy sinatra and some of his solo work im in love im in love
  7. 100% it's the first track on the record because it's such an obvious opener
  8. WTF LANA STOP DOING JOKES LIKE THIS GET A LIFE GT A JOB IM CALLING PAT RIGHT NOW
  9. Why bother with this when the profil says "my dark people love ride in the spring", even Lana is not THAT cheesy this is so disrespectful
  10. Daniel Johnston as an artist and the documentary are real dope stuff. I'm so glad that now everything seems to clear up - maybe it's not as glamorous as picturing her doing meth lost somewhere in her car in nevada, but it's also so alive and interesting to know where it all comes from. Kinda creepy too, now I know more about her life than mine tbh
  11. Lana's only dream is for us to know that she's a real chola
  12. Idk what she meant by honeymoon being jazzy. She actually said that SoC is a jazz song but I can understand what she wanted to say, like on the whole mood and "color" of the track. So I guess HM is not really gonna be a jazzy album from a musical point of view, but more like in the imagery and in the vibe. I wish for beautiful guitars. But really all I want is her usual songs about her doing crack and touching herself to the thought of Roberto, her mexican super hot gangsta folk singer dead husband ; and psychedelic stuff like she did before and in some aspects on UV
  13. badgalririïîi and Megaforce, a french collective. They always do great, colofurl, cinematic stuff. I think they did videos for yeah yeah yeahs and madonna
  14. Its because of the full moon, she gets a little bit crazy loca, like cats and dogs you know
  15. yeah true, but I remember she said that they first recorded the album with just a session drummer and guitar, and then they did the whole bring-fire-back-into-my-life stuff with Dan. So I wonder what it sounded like, and I guess the tracklisting was completly different too. That's why to me like flipside and stuff might be straight from this scrapped draft of UV since it's so minimalist. But maybe i'm just reaching so
  16. I hope one day we get to hear the 1st version of UV that she recorded and produced herself with Blake before they met Dan. Songs like Flipside, PWYC and maybe G&R to an extent, seem to be the only survivors from this session and they definitely have a different edge to them
  17. I love the way she delivers the lyrics too idk, affected but not forced
  18. Barrie just said "hey daddy <3" nice to see he's alive and breathing, I kinda miss when he was a supporting act for Lana and they had, like, fans on stage to make his hair flow and glow and all this stuff
  19. Come on lana you're 30 now don't do instagram on Dřůğ$$$
  20. i'm in too even for stuff like shakira records or asian pedo-pop
  21. She used to have such clever and just great lyrics, with all this double meanings, even on BTD where there was already a slight loss in quality from her previous work I think. I guess that now she's more into improvising melodies with the band or whatever like what they did for PWYC. She became so much better in the whole sound/production/composition part of her music, which is so refined now, but i don't know why she's confident about her new lyrics tbh. They're not bad because of the way she delivers them, the fact that they fit with her music's whole concept, and she's still have like distance with them like the whole cola thing and stuff. But she did better, in the past.
