I mean, has anyone heard Is This Happiness?

I really loved them together.
It's not too surprising after some of those UV lyrics, though.

I'm glad tbh. Barrie is obviously a great guy and loved her before she was famous but I think he was really bringing her down. It must be so difficult to be in a relationship with somebody who seems to be so dark. And lbr he didn't really inspire Lana that much as she continues to sing about other guys. next album could be done sooner than we think .
The clues were there, "my boyfriend's in a band". Barrie went solo. Is Jimmy still in Ours?

At first I thought you were slandering the album

stormlanguage liked a post in a topic by silhouettes in Garbage similarities
This album sounds very much like Garbage. Not so much the vocals, only sometimes, but the production is very much like a Garbage ballad or slow song(West Coast and Ultraviolence), more so from the Bleed Like Me album.

CEDRIC GERVAIS REMIX FT PITBULL PLS

well Frances is right, regardless of whether she meant what she said in the Guardian interview, Lana has always glamorised death (even on Sirens lol) and its kinda unhealthy imo

I listened to this song for the first time with a huge grin on my face, it's been my favorite track from Ultraviolence so far since it premiered.

My favorite part of the song is near the ending when Barrie starts singing along his voice really compliments the song and I really wish he actually got to sing a verse or two like a duet its very Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood

The moment that hooks me in is the end of the first verse. Not really into the DN thing.
But when she says:
"Jim taught me thaaaaat,
he hit me and it felt like a kiss
Jim brought me baaaack,
Reminded me of when we were kids"
I'm done. Slayed. Cause of death: Lana Del Rey

I think it is meant to sound somewhat turned over, expired, dank...

This song is everything. I knew it would take me by my hand and TURN me out. I knew it.
It is everything I could ask for from Lana. The first verse is the killer. It delicately disarms you, and then cuts you at the throat, sweetly. Come on, bitch! The layered effect on the chorus vocal adds to the bleakness of the track. I don't know about anyone else, but no one does grunge heroin fish like Mother Lana. And while I could not stand the spoken piece in the live version, I love it here.
There is dark power here, a guttural seduction that only Lana could emote. It is sickening!

Summersault liked a post in a topic by stormlanguage in Lana Questionnaire
1. How did you discover Lana? When and What Era?
\When Born to Die first came out I ignored it because I was one of those idiots who dismissed music on it's image or fans or genre. However I heard a remix of Video Games by a guy called Jamie Woon (down-tempo dark electronic stuff) and got HOOKED on one specific vocal from the song, and so I looked up the original song and here we are
Would've been about half-way between BTD and Paradise.
2. First song(s)?
Blue Jeans (my first favourite), Video Games, Summertime Sadness, Born to Die
3.what did you think?
I really liked her style and instrumentals (coming from an electronic/hip-hop background), especially Blue Jeans and TIWMUG, and of course her voice on Video Games
4. Your favourite song(s)?
Ride, Video Games, Without You, TV in Black and White, TIWMUG, American, Radio, Driving in Cars with Boys, AFFA, Blue Jeans, For K part 2,
5. Least favourite song(s)?
Only a few of her unreleased songs
6. What song(s) "grew" on you?
Carmen, Million Dollar Man and especially Yayo. I love yayo now, can't decide which version though
7. Whats your favourite Lana era as of now? (May jailer, Lizzy Grant, Lana Del Rey)
Lana Del Rey. I really like some of the lyrics from May Jailer and Lizzy Grant, but I love Lana's image and the production on BTD/Paradise
I think I will love UV Lana even more so, just from BB, WC and SOC and clips of her latest performances
8. Favourite Album(s)?
It seems like cheating but BTD Paradise edition. I think I'll like UV more
9. Least favourite(s) ?
If you made me choose, Sirens
10. Favourite song preformed live?
Haven't listened to enough to decide, probably her latest stuff from UV
11. First song/Album purchased/Downloaded?
first downloaded: Born to Die, first purchased: Paradise edition
12. Favourite song quote/lyric?
it's coming you little bitch
lyrics though, so many:
Been trying hard not to get into trouble, but I got a war on my mind
Baby now, you do
My life is sweet like cinnamon, like a fuckin' dream I'm livin' in
You're feeling hard to push away, I'm feeling hot to the touch
I will wait until the end of time, I would wait a million years
I'm in love with a dying man
I was waving on the train platform, crying cause I know I'm never coming back
Basically every word from TV in Black and White
I said it really nicely so can you be my savior?
also the entirety of the monologue from Ride, especially 'Live fast, die young, be wild and have fun'

stormlanguage liked a post in a topic by prostitutestare in Promo Single: "SHADES OF COOL" (May 26)
I have been listening to the song all morning, and I am not sure if anyone has commented on this already, but I am so undone over the fact that Lana channeled all of the goddesses of the Motown era to vocally produce this track. Work, Lana. I am surprised that I did not hear it at first. Am I the only one who gets Diana, Gladys, 50s 60s doo wop tease, especially from the chorus? The last little bit SMACKS of Minnie Ripperton, and yes, I know she is not of the Motown era. There is even a bit of bird whistling in the background during Lana's humming that alludes to her paying homage to Miss Minnie, the queen of the sickening, bird like whistle note. Yes, Lana. She has clearly studied the mothers of music.

Don't want to listen to a stupid snippet of Brooklyn Baby and that's why I turned the volume down when it came on
First of all I'm glad that she got a promo video at all ! Oh and shame on me but I like those 2 minutes better than the entire West Coast video Why did they cut out all the cute and exciting scenes ????
