  1. Guys, I came up with a very serious theory and I have to present it to you. I'm not trying to make you guys believe it's true... but it is. First of all we have Lana Del Rey. Or Lizzy Grant. Or Sparkle Jump Rope Queen. Or whatever name she decides to have after waking up from her 14 hours of sleep. Young artist who loves to lie, but also makes great music. She was hugely dedicated to her music career up until 2015, when she gave 0 fucks about it and forgot about tours and promotion and blablabla. She then tried to come back to her music but it wasn't the same. Her lanadelreyators are still waiting for her new album, Norman Fucking Rockwell. Now, in the other hand, we have a different person: Cardi B. Young and controversial rapper that became famous in 2017 with her hit "Bodak Yellow" Now here's what I have to say: When people talk about Cardi B's past, before being famous, they say she was a stripper that gained a lot of money and liked to drug men. She debuted in 2015 with her first remix of a song called Boom Boom. See how this all makes sense? Lana Del Rey stopped giving a fuck about her career right when Cardi B, an unknown rapper, made her debut in the hip hop scene... 2015... when Lana Del Grant also implemented HIP HOP BEATS into her music (Honeymoon)... Strange... right? Also it's very weird how Cardi B's pre-fame life sounds just a Lana Del Rey song... drugs... men... money and being a stripper (does anyone remember Tropico?) Another thing: Cardi B isn't Cardi B's real name! She's called Belcalis Almanzar... who else is famous for having different names? That's right: Lana Del Rey. Also Cardi B sounds really tropical. Do you know who once said that she got inspired by tropical friends or whatever for her stage name? You guessed it: Lana Del Ray. My theory (which is true by the way) is that Lana got bored of her sad music career and decided that she wanted to try something new: hip hop. It obviously would be something very shocking for everyone, so she gave us some small hip hop influences on her own album and decided to launch a new career under a different name and a different look. Why does she look so different when she's on her Cardi B costume¿ Don't ask me, ask @lanadelrey on instagram or twitter. While she was on her Cardi B journey, she discovered that hip hop made her really successful, so she tried adding more of these beats onto her next LDR album, Lust For Life, but they sounded cheap as fuck for whatever reason. Beacasue of this she decided to continue as Cardi B and leave Lana Del Rey as a side project. That's why she has released just a few songs so randomly and without any promotion. She also decided to add PROFANITY to her album title (Norman Fucking R*******), and Cardi B is kinda famous for her profanity!!!! My last evidence to convince all of you is this one: have you ever seen Lana del Rey and Cardi B in the same room at the same time? I know I haven't! I know Cardi B (aka lana del rey on disguise) will continue to pretend like she comes from the Bronx and was a stripper, but we know Lana loves to lie! (check out the Lies Lana Has Told Us Thread for proof). I hope yall believe this truth and start considering why Lana has left us!!!!! i'd like to nominate this for lb twitter my thing isn't letting me quote it idk y but i believe it was hanging froot like 1 or 2 pages back
  2. alright let's take a vote is it: wild one color blue wild on you choose wisely. there will be consequences.
  3. i love this one sooo much. when we were discussing album covers last week someone had made, i dont remember who, that first photo on a cover with no album title or name, just the parental advisory warning and i loved it. this is my favorite photo from that shoot
  4. truthfully, this is an awesome track. it's different but i honestly love it, no joke. i keep it on repeat sometimes and let it play while I take a nap or stalk this thread.
  5. Stay on your path Sylvia Plath don't fall away like all the others Don't take all your secrets alone to your watery grave about lovers and mother The secrets you keep will keep you in deep like Father and Amy and brother And all of the people you meet on the street will reiterate lies that she uttered Leave me in peace I cry late at night on a slow boat bound for Catalina for no reason Tiny beads of sweat dot my forehead could be mistaken for dew drops if this were photo season. But alas this is a real life - and it's been a real fight just to keep my mind from committing treason. Why you ask? Because she told the towns people I was crazy and the lies they started to believe them But anyway - I've moved on now And now that I've gone scorched earth I'm left wondering where to go from here. To Sonoma where the fires have just left? South Dakota? Would standing in front of Mount Rushmore feel like the Great American homecoming I never had? Would the magnitude of the scale of the sculpture take the place of the warm embrace I've never known. Or should I just be here now In the kitchen Bare feet on linoleum Bored - but not unhappy Cutting vegetables over boiling water that I will later turn into stew The watery grave reminded me immediately of poet Virginia Woolf who committed suicide by drowning herself in a river. Sylvia Plath and Virginia Woolf are both incredibly famous female poets and they both had severe mental illness and killed themselves. Which brings me to my next pointttt...... Amy of course refers to Amy Winehouse who overdosed and died. It couldn't be determined if the overdose was intentional or not. Winehouse suffered with alcohol and drug abuse so Elizabeth surely feels some connection with Amy which is confirmed by the tattoo she has of her name. So we've got some type of suicide theme going on here maybe... It feels to me that she is talking about going off to boarding school and what was happening leading up to it. She lived in a suburban town and her being drunk and promiscuous in her early teens would get the residents talking. Her mother may have come up with lies about why Elizabeth was acting like that and, to spare herself from looking bad, told real, exaggerated or false stories about Elizabeth. It would hurt if your mother tells lies about you to everyone in town, but it would hurt just as much if her mother was telling people real things that happened that Elizabeth was very ashamed of and didn't want anyone to know. Her mother could play a part in how her addiction developed. The townspeople started to believe her mother's lies that Elizabeth was crazy and she is upset with her mother still after all these years. The boat to Catalina seems like her wanting to take a vacation. She has been in the public eye for several years now and she wants to get away from it all but knows she can't. She is trapped in paradise. The Great American Homecoming is my favorite part of this. It's clear that the 'american dream' is something that deeply affected Lana's life in some way and it has been clear for a decade. The american dream of going through terrible hardships and then breaking out of it and becoming successful, wealthy, happy, etc. was something she has wanted all her life. When she went to boarding school she was going through a hard time and getting clean would be her success. Homecoming is used as in her going back to her town after boarding school. She wanted family and other community members to praise her for how strong she is and talk about how much they missed her and give her warm embraces, but when she came back that didn't happen. People might've made more jabs at her previous bad behavior and she just felt like she couldn't shake off this mistake and she wants to leave to where nobody knows her name. Again, this could be the wanting to leave and get away from it all. Her dreams of being Lake Placid's sweetheart are crushed. She's clearly lost. Fame hit her very suddenly and she was very rushed into finishing an album. Now she wonders if she should try to have a more normal life, a life that she's never known. A life that she lives on her own terms, not on the terms of a mother who makes you leave your friends behind, or a record label that rushes you into producing an album. She's scared she won't be happy with that life though and will be bored very quickly. Boredom is a major cause for why addicts start using again. They don't have that rush feeling or the high and want to feel something. Maybe she feels like she is just going through the motions and is living a boring life with no genuine happiness.
  6. what do you all think the lyrical content of NFR will be? After BTD and Paradise, the lolita coney island cola daddy gangsta has gradually declined and LFL was all about being #woke and i'm wondering if this album will have her be deeply submissive like the previous releases or feel lonely like HM did or ...? but like all this poetry astrology legacy and time stuff she's been writing about makes me think that her song lyrics will read like her Instagram poems and i just feel so bored, i want to listen to NFR but i feel incredibly bored by the snippets and MAC, VB, Hope, HTD just don't interest me really. I love when she layers her vocals and when i can listen to a song i've listened to 3000 times and still hear things i've never noticed b4 and im just not getting that so far maybe my expectations are too high but i was expecting NFR to fuck me so hard I cry and now... it's just fucking me pls dont cum after me for not licking VB's toes, its just the way i feel
  7. Co-produced by Princess Superstar and Aaron LaCrate.
  8. i hope NFR has references to May Jailer era. like that 'I'm A Star' fake song title reminded me immediately of 'A Star For Nick' i'd like something similar to the "I'll do it on my own" from High By The Beach
  9. sigh 3 and 1/2 months later... did we ever get in touch with that psychic who does celebrity readings
  10. it's common in the music industry for artists to record separate from each other. they might record on different days or in different studios. they might not even meet the person they are collaborating with. i'm saying this, not specifically to you, but because of all the collab conspiracies. Are we sure that she is even gonna make another album or single? she seems so unmotivated lately and she's getting older. she might want to go on and experience new things in life with her soul cycle sisters i just cant imagine another album. this era has been such a mess and we don't know how it will be perceived once it finally comes out of hiding. she kinda dropped the whole "lolita lost in the hood", "wrap me up in an american flag and let a bald eagle shit on my face" shtick... and when you think about it, a significant chunk, if not the majority, of her unreleased songs were wrapped around that. but i am curious to know what she would write about in an upcoming album and what the sound and visuals would be who is taylor's usual producer? has she worked with Jack before?
  11. pink flamingos, sunglasses, cigarettes the whole filter of the video looks just like her old self-made videos and looks like the VB and MAC nokia phone videos AND THE SONG IS CALLED 'DRIVE'
  12. yeah someone commented that it sounded like the red dress pale moonlight lyric and the comment got over 300 likes so a lot of people agree. i can kinda hear it but seems very subconscious
  13. okay i need some feedback i want to discuss Lana's evolution as an artist and person and what we think her future holds i wanna analyze her kinda because im interested in what her mind is like, like what she values, her own views on herself, ya know is there a specific thread that this would fit in (not a broad thread on like what people think of her song lyrics) i'm fairly new here so i'd like to know if this sounds like a good thread idea
  14. ^ i strongly feel that this should make the banaloards twitter
  15. i didn't even know there was a music video. in total how many music videos have been scrapped?
  16. What ever happened to that "$1 poetry book" ? she said she wanted to release it before NFR If NFR is coming late summer/early autumn, Violets bent ass backwards should be arriving soon, right?
  17. Paradise Edition: (these may not be unpopular, i'm just saying my opinion) umm how was American not scrapped? the lyrics and vocals just sound so bad to me. seems like a filler song Blue Velvet was bland and boring, emotionless. most of Ride feels static. Next. Lana's performance of Body Electric live at the 2012 iTunes Festival is incredible. One of my favorite live recordings of her. The strings, just beautiful. We can all agree that AKA Yayo is better The sound of the children playing in Bel Air feels pure and I feel like all my troubles disappear when I hear it Born to Die and Paradise are so over-produced and heavy, I would love the album so much more if it was stripped down, closer to the demo versions. It sounds so overly-refined and that SHOUTING SOUND IS SO ANNOYING OH MY GOD ITS EMBARRASSING. That's why her unreleased music appeals to me so much because usually it's stripped down and more raw.
