I also love Can't Pin Me Down and Solitaire, Froot has so many gems. Just wish she included I'm Not Hungry Anymore in the tracklist, it's SO good.

I LOVE Electra, but Froot is even better than it, so mature.

Fucking amazing song. Could have been single material before Pop2 and everything. Still, amazing.

 

 

per album the best songs have gotta be: obsessions/numb (i flip flop DAILY), starring role/buy the stars (state of dreaming barely missed it), immortal/happy (nobody's gonna agree with me on immortal ik but.....i love that song so i'm prepared to fight.), and if we're including unreleased songs, scab and plaster/sinful.

I never understood the praise for "I'm a Ruin". So many people that aren't fans just love the song and say it's her best. I think it's so... random. It's good but like... Her best????

I used to hate Shampain so much Jeez it was like EARBLEED every time it came on. I started to enjoy it when someone made an edit from "Lonely Hearts Club Tour" with extended intro.

I Also disliked I am not a robot but this one made me cry when she performed right infront of me.

I thought about Take it Back and also the intro\outro reminded me of Headmaster with that long-ass-beautiful outro too.

I remember feeling so excited about Little Things when I saw a snippet of "SUPERSUNSET Experience" that she sang over the studio version.... 

Ugh hoping for more videos this time I swear to god I wish I could give her million dollars to create a small-visual-album for this.

Sex Yeah is one of her best songs, just love how feminist it is. Radioactive must be one of the worst of hers.

 

I must confess I never heard The Family Jewels and from what the little pieces I veard from some songs it seems pretty bad. Is it worth?

Def. good if you like FROOT. Really solid. I used to hate most of the singles from TFJ but now it's just Shampain that I still skip almost every time.

Hermit the frog, Guilty, Are You Satisfield?.... many gems.

I'm honestly too tired to read pages and pages of this thread, although I read a few, but would someone please be kind enough to explain to me why fans were deceived of Unhappy Meal? It's really been bugging me for some reason, I don't get it, I'm listening to it on a loop rn and it's deadass one of my fav Melanie songs. I mean if you wanted to show someone what's her style, this song sums it all. And if it's because of the beat, it's really good imho, the only tiny weaker thing is the "wah wah wah" sound at the beginning and end. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm extremely surprised this wasn't on CB

I don't think it's the worst thing I've heard but it's just rough. And repetitive. The electronic aspect of it is really interesting, but with all the other songs that sound just so polished and finished... it gets a bit odd. Also the intro is nice. It's like... a right path to ge the song right. But it's not right now.

I'm...not feeling... Little Things at all. Not Bad, but all the other 3 were a bit more... impressive at first listen.

Fuck the song is incredible. For sure it's a mood thing because not always will be here for 4 minutes of almost nothing but guitars, but for sure it's a classic for her career.

Bluffington is the Amazon-confirmed album title, its the name of a school from a 90s cartoon, Melanie did many interviews claiming each of her future albums would be about an individual place in Cry Baby's town, Drama Club is easily a school-related name, the 2 photoshoot pics feature Cry Baby in a classroom and in a nurses office, and she posted this as a hint over 3 years ago:

 

 

I think its safe to say at this point that it's about Cry Baby's school.

I believe this album has been "DONE" (musically-wise) for at least 1 year now. Of course she probably kept recording some new stuff in the mean time and replacing songs like cry baby had all these songs taken off at final minutes, but she mentioned MARCH 2017 and they were recording BONUS TRACKS.

It's just the film that seems to be taking so long.

After her whole "School drama" in her personal life as a teen\kid, it will be interesting to watch the album bloom through this.

I personally assume all of it's Cry Baby outtakes (and Haunted and Half Hearted are confirmed Cry Baby outtakes) except for Drama Club, considering the second album's supposed to be about 1 specific location that's very obviously a school. I also theorize Schizo was recorded for the Dollhouse EP cause it has a very similar sound to Dead to Me, but idk.

 

All the songs presumably came from Hauntedbymel, and presumably "Until Sunrise" from him will also be leaking soon. "Where Do Babies Come From" is also slowly spreading but I don't believe that came from him.

I thought that the second album was going to be in general about the city and not only one place itself. That got me thinking about 99c Store being a possibility since it was one of the titles we never heard (?) of before. Same goes for Drama Club.

btw thanks for the post from 2014, that was interesting to know and how long these songs have been around lol.
