im gonna be so disappointed if she doesn't release the album in time for the stadium dates part of the reason i decided to cave and buy tickets was bc i presumed there might be at least two or three new songs from the album on the setlist -

this is PERFECT! and how has nobody else ever mentioned how perfectly fitting an At Last cover would be for this album?? i can't believe that never came to mind, but now i need it -
i just looooove how full and intricate the song is, especially in the current pop landscape where tiktok-ability is favoured over grandiosity - don't get me wrong, a song doesn't have to be grandiose to be fantastic (i mean hello im a may jailer stan) but to have this level of maximalist pop in 2025 feels so damn good

Music To Watch Boys To vs Summertime Sadness

so the pre-chorus interpolates spellbound by siouxsie and the banshees, right? edit to add: i am truly obsessed w this song oh my god

omg that's a tough one Sad Girl (selected purely based on that gorgeous spanish guitar that comes in during the second verse) vs Music To Watch Boys To

im really surprised by people's reactions to cowboy carter winning aoty, i thought it was a really solid album! in my opinion it could have done with a slightly shorter runtime/a few tracks being trimmed, but overall i thought it was a wonderful album that felt like it executed a real grandiose vision from start to finish. i do understand why some people think this may be more of an "IOU" grammy - renaissance was absolutely robbed and cowboy carter's win does kinda feel like maaaaaaybe it was making up for that snub - but given the current intense popularity of country music, it doesn't surprise me that the voters may have been endeared to this record given the interesting way it interpreted and executed country music. country was massive this year, it kinda went more "mainstream" than it has been in decades, even over here in the uk. and hey, aoty was a reeeeally strong category this year, so i wouldn't be surprised if the votes were much more split between different albums than normal, with cowboy carter just edging out billie, chappell and charli. i also feel like the awards were quite well balanced and distributed in general this year - a lot of people that deserved grammys for making 2024 the incredible year for music that it was got them.

not that sales or whatever matter, but how do we think this will perform commercially? too maximalist for the GP maybe? absolutely agreed!! she seems really enthusiastic about this album and the fact that we have incredible visuals so soon in the album cycle is such a nice sign

i didn't like disease, but im really happy with abracadabra! not crazy about the initial synth part, you know the one that comes in at the start and during the post-chorus? which seems to be a v unpopular opinion but to me that part sounds a little cheap? but the rest of the song is just so fun, gorgeously over the top and maximalist, a mix of 80s power pop and mid-2000s eurodance. can't wait to dance to this after a bottle of wine
