We also know she did a photoshoot (probably video shoot) with the director of the Tough video, so theoretically things could be ready to drop at any moment and they’re just waiting for the right time. 

Hot Shot said DYKTTATUOB was uploaded over a week in advance, and the insider is saying the release is August 9th, so it could be announced on Tuesday the 30th, be uploaded around August 2nd; and then released a week later on August 9th

Granted, my expectations are low and if we don’t get an announcement in the next two weeks I won’t be disappointed or surprised BUT the timeline still adds up. Of course nothing is going to be uploaded now (or possibly even Monday) if we’re still 12+ days away from whatever is going to be released

To sum it up:

Thing is you always see it's hot, you get excited, you even see posts talking about "news" which are actually either speculations, wishes or jokes, but you need to read between 2 to 20 pages to find out. It's disappointing (because it wasn't a fact) and it's getting tiring. Maybe two threads could be a solution? 😊

Well to be fair the off topic posts making fun of the tweet and the recent ‘greatest hits’ discussion shouldn’t have happened here and I’m going to move them to random/lana conversation to tidy it up in here. 
 

With as little news as we get I think one thread for both fact and speculation is enough since we get about 2 new pages a week so there isn’t that much to keep up on

well no, Tough’s verse and chorus was written around November of 2023, and was shown to Lana by Clay in January of this year. It can be easily assumed that In God’s Time was also written around that time, since it shares multiple writers with Tough.

No not really. They do post some accurate info (and they usually own up when something they say is wrong/doesn’t happen) but a lot of times the info is mostly stuff that could have been easily guessed if you’re following the fandom at all

Like one insider (not PInsider) tweeted “Lana - This summer” a couple of months ago, then tagged Tough’s release picture when it was announced, but literally anyone could have ‘known’ were getting something this summer so it’s mostly just lucky guesses. I don’t think many of them have actual inside knowledge

I think the first video has already been shot (the one she teased in June) and this will be the second video she puts out!

Also, I’m not sure if it was reported, because I haven’t been online a lot. That twitter insider (PInsider, the same one who said she was shooting a video in the fall for a new song) also reaffirmed about a week or so ago she was releasing this year. (I’d pull up the tweet but they seem to have deactivated their account again)

Honestly a week notice for a the single, it dropping in August and then the album the following month is following the Honeymoon print, and I think that’s the best case scenario.

With tunnel being delayed in January after getting an official release date, I’m more than happy with only a month or two (because I still the think the album is going to be released in October)between announcement and album!

plus Tough isn’t even a month old yet and is still fresh in my mind, so I don’t need a new Lana song currently

That was my very first thought too!
 

I think if he steps down/is forced down and she steps up and does the job for 3 or 4 months, then it will seem more like Americans are choosing to keep her in office vs electing her, and while it’s basically the same thing either way, I can definitely see the 60K middle ground Americans who are on the fence being more accepting of it. 
 

I just don’t see America electing our first female president any other way. A woman is going to have to prove and show she can do it before they vote her in. (And no, I’m not saying I agree with this mindset but I definitely know how the average American thinks)

America is as misogynistic as it is racist, and Kamala is going to have a STEEP mountain to climb to get half the approval a vanilla white man would get. 
 

I will say, her post RNC speech was really good, but I just worry about the optics this is going to bring to the more undecided voters. 
 

Of course I know I’m voting for an administration not just one person, and I think any Democrat’s administration will be better than the MAGA/P2025 loyalists Trump is going to bring, but I feel an alarmingly high number of Americans don’t realize just how much is at stake here

Happy birthday to my forever favorite Lana album 

this album had such a strong presence in my life in 2017, where every single moment with this album was tied to an event in my personal life. I’ve never, in my life, had an album where every single moment (from leaked songs, to instagram snippets and single releases) can be tied to a specific event so vividly. 

from day 1 I’ve been the biggest LFL defender, and I always will be! It’s a fun record that, as an American, truly captured the anxiety of living though the early Trump times. It might not be as deep or realized as some fans want from her, but while every artist was shying away from the political events/tensions, Lana embraced the anxieties and reassured me that other people were also feeling those same anxieties.

With as many alt accounts of hers that have been discovered over the last decade, I’m sure she’s posting what she wants to post on an account not known by a single fan. 

HBTB came out in August and Honeymoon came out in September. 
 

Tunnel was announced in December and still managed to get a delay in January. I think Lana’s team realizes that they shouldn’t officially announce anything until they can be absolutely sure of a release date. 
 

tbh I bounce back and forth on if I think it’s actually coming this year. It’s possible it could be an October release, but admittedly I’m starting to think it’s not coming this year. A lot of projects have been announced for September, and are getting their singles now. Lasso being not mentioned at all makes me think they’re just waiting out all the releases this year.
