Exactly I think people are getting confused, it was the Vulture writer who said it, not the publisher's editor, they were probably wrong and they were referring to Behind the iron gates, she said she was gonna be sharing her views mostly in the second book.

I guess she's not gonna release anything until the album comes out, or maybe just a single like fily / the greatest, she said it was probably gonna be a surprise release, i mean we have the date so is not a surprise anymore but it doesn't look like she's gonna release anything soon, i'm curious of course and i don't want her to spoil the whole album like she did with NFR but the lack of info is killing me tbh, i wish she would tease something so we could guess the album direction at least or something like that

right? like i get that some people felt influenced by her lyrics but there's a difference between dreaming or thinking about something and really doing it. You can fantasize about something or play it in your head knowing that you would never do it in real life, i can play a scenario in my head listening to some lyrics but i know i won't do that, if you get an instant desire for doing the things that you're listening and then you really go and do those things in your real life, that's probably an inner problem and the lyrics can maybe bring up your issue, but it's not like lana made you do those things or something like that lmao, you can't blame an artist's work for leading you to do things that came from an inner and personal problem imo

That was not my experience with her music neither, i was 14 when btd came out and i started listening to her, i never ever wanted to do anything that she talked about in her lyrics, i knew how to separate her art and my own life, i read a viral tweet weeks ago saying "lana del rey had us girls wanting to be k*dnapped in a gas station by a gang member at 13 y/o and y'all thought she was normal" tbh, if you wanted to be k*dnapped by listening to lana's music at 13 you may had big issues to be treated that aren't even remotely related to her or her influence and i mean this in the most respectful way, i know some people may was influenced by her and her lyrics, and her music may not be the best example to young people at that moment but on the other hand, i think every artist should be able to express anything through their art even if it's not always politically correct. She has some problematic lyrics yes, but i don't think it was anything more than a girl in her twenties with a fascination for lolita, the 50s and maybe some kinky stuff.

Not to sound dramatic, but this last year, there hasn't been a day when a new lana photo has come out, when I haven't seen someone trashing her appearance. Ofc we can talk about her, but as a woman I feel truly disgusted to have to see mostly men, calling her "fat" (for ex), when she is clearly thin, normal, even tonified... "old" when she is 34, i mean she is literally young? of course surgery changes your appearance, yeah her face is not exactly the same, or maybe she looks a "little less perfect than she was" (i don't really know how to word this in the most respectful way), but anyways, I can't really understand why people is so obsessed with her looks, even her own fans. She's not gonna look 25 again, get over it. I'm sick of seeing people on twitter attacking her every time a new picture comes out, last week there were people literally making viral tweets where everyone laughed at her face and her appearance or how bad she aged, twitter is a mess, they constantly judge her weight, age and every little thing, and no, I'm not overreacting, maybe a man will never understand the pressure we women are under the standards of beauty, if lana gets criticized every day for her appearance, what will they do with any girl who is not famous, rich or perfect? Not to mention the "fans" who make fun of her every day, of course we can make jokes, but honestly if I had to see how the people who supposedly support me make fun of me and my appearance constantly..... To talk about a look, a hair color or anything else in a respectful way is acceptable, to be a grown man sitting behind a mobile screen criticizing a woman's appearance, no. it's just misogynist, and yes, there are women who drag her too, but 8 out of 10 people I see criticizing her are men, acting like they have some right to make harmful comments about a woman's body or face on a daily basis. I think it's time to stop, honestly. Sorry if I wrote too much, just my thoughts.
