Lana feature in Billboard Magazine - February 25th, 2023 [Print]

I never said you can't be a fan if you're not interested in her life... I only said if you are deeply interested in her as a person, besides her music, then you're probably going to be more into this new writing than someone who loves her music but doesn't care about her life. I never said if you're not interested in her life you're a fake fan lmao. I said I know people who loves her music but are not interested in what she has to say about her friends and family in her writing, and that doesn't mean you're not a fan, but her writing about her family and friends is a big part of her art now for what it seems, and I think if you're interested in her as a person, you'll find this writing cute and loving as a lot of us do. I don't care about Jen or Nikki Lane either, I just like to see her writing about what she loves since I find it cute, but I never said if you're not interested you're not a fan, that's all. -
I'm actually excited for this era I had to come back here. Haven't felt this excited since NFR era and tho I don't actually feel the same because NFR era is untouchable to me, I feel this is going be her best album since that. I was disappointed with BB and worried about how the next one was going to turn out. But seeing how happy she looks and how promising the album looks I'm smelling another NFR when it comes to critical acclaim at least.

I honestly think her "new" writing style is for her true fans, and with this I mean people who are interested in her as a whole. In her life, her stories, the things she has lived, the things she still has to tell us and all that. I know people who loves her music but can't stand her talking about nikki lane or whatever. I personally think it's cute too and shows how deeply she cares about the people that surrounds her. It shows she really has a good heart. But I do get that people who only likes her music, but don't really care that much about her as a person, are not into this writing style. I personally eat up everything she writes because I'm really interested in everything she has to tell. I loved Violet and I'm excited for her next book too, and I feel like I would love to sit with her just to hear her talk about all the things she has lived or whatever she would like to talk about but yeah that's me as a fan. People that don't care about her as a person probably don't even know the people she will talk about so I kinda get it.- 143 replies

I'm a fan of practically everything she puts out and been following her since some time, I love the album but I have to say I don't really love her working with Aaron? Like I'm more into her "minor" sound, I think it gave her a more "deep indie songwriter" vibe. The album is good but I still feel like she needs to exploit her sound. Like all the songs are good but it feels like she could have more epic moments and production. Wish there would be more songs like "Will you cry?" and "This is what the drugs are for". Still love the album tho. Btw, out of context but she said a couple days ago in an interview that Lana is one of her dream collabs

i'm sorry but this over-observation of everything she does is a reach... she dragged trump supporters in qftc that was literally months ago... in her book too and it just came out, not to talk about the 90543 times she has talked shit against him and she literally said in 2018 her views are mostly liberal and all her family is anti trump... how can y'all think she likes pence, and the fox live was probably the first one she saw, this is a reach lmao

I was about to say the same thing, i just checked someone's performance from two days ago and it's 45min, but the artist sing one song from them and one cover, as she did last year, and the rest of the time it's just normal music playing so i def think she's gonna sing lmlylaw or another new song. I don't think she's going there to just do a cover.

is that a hickey on her neck

In Bed (and in the Tub) with Lana Del Rey - Interview Magazine [Video]
irvnex replied to Elle's topic in New Interviews
Can the background music of the video be LMLYLAW? -
Btw who's the woman in the back of the video?
-
Yeah that's what i was thinking too. I thought she was being serious bc she already mentioned that but she has not been absent for 90 days as long as i remember so idk, maybe she was talking about another person or being sarcastic or whatever. Imo the video is a mix of thoughts and feelings that i don't really get at all but same here, i'll leave it at that.
-
Yeah, that's obvious. I am referring to moments when she describes her state of mind in general, for example by referring to this stage of her life. If she says she is doing very well and a month later says the opposite (for ex talking about this phase of her life) it is normal that it seems somewhat contradictory. Anyway, my main point is that I noticed her as a little angry or annoyed since the question fo the culture, and i was wondering if it may has been affecting her somehow, that's all.

Don't kill me but I don't know if I like the video at all. I mean, I like it visually, but apart from the fact that it has a weird energy (I don't mean that in a bad way) I feel that sometimes I don't understand her. I see videos from the NFR era and I see her changed and different. I'm not saying for the better or worse, but I have the feeling that she's been a little bit different since the question for the culture. It's like she always looks a little bit annoyed or serious these last few months. I guess she is a complex person, and sometimes she contradicts herself a lot and I can't tell when she is talking in a satirical tone and when she is not, that's why I find it hard to understand her personality. Last year she seemed quite happy and calm, always going out with her friends and so on, even she always says she is happy, but then in violet she says certain things that may give cause to think the opposite. The same thing happened to me with this interview, I also thought she was fine this last year but suddenly she says things like: "i don't think i'm doing okay" or "sometimes i panick out of nowhere", or talks about being in an institution (even if she's joking). So what is the truth? Honestly, I see her a little differently than in the NFR era, and especially since the question of culture, so I find it hard to understand her. Anyways I don't know if this makes sense I hope I've explained myself well.

She literally only posted a video watching football with some guy... How is that pathetic? We don't know everything about her lmao and doing something with someone you like because they like that is not pathetic at all.

I know, i'm not saying she's always right or that she was right on the way she spoke with the culture post. But when she talks about her story, as i said, we don't know how that has affected her through the years, actually it seems that it's been affecting her a lot since she can't let it go, but i think when it comes to her story she has all the rights to be upset about it. I don't think she considers herself as a mega genius, reading a lot of interviews from her since the start i don't think she's never talked about herself as some kind of god, but the opposite. So i think now she's only saying that all that criticism has been unfair and she's always been right for thinking that way, at least that's what i get from her words.
