    First we got the location - then we got the Monica Bellucci post and comment (which was connected to a whole ass interview she did back in the day) - now we got the post with the hashtag #poet 

    I don’t see why everyone is setting themselves up for disappointment. 
    It’s going to be an interview about Violet + photoshoot.

    does anyone else get totally swept off their feet when that Hawaiian guitar riff kicks in at min 0.57 in Quiet Waiter ? -  I so would love it if it became a song on COCC - I just get this image of her sitting at this Hawaiian beach bar contemplating the atmosphere looking at the waiter going about his chores / kinda makes me think of Blue Moon by Elvis.

    So, question for the culture. 

    Has anyone tried feeling on your neck which way the wind was going?
    Or picture the floor rising up to support you and sink in to back of the bed that’s behind you? Or close your eyes and feel where you hold your attention if it’s in the back of your eyes walk it down to your heart centre? 

    I know I have and also I could listen to the instrumental to Quiet Waiter for always. The swooping Hawaiian guitar riff is just ohh *chef’s kiss*

    Ben’s soon is not Lana’s (hopefully)

     

    Didn’t he tell fans at one of her concerts that Don’t Call Me Angel was coming in one or two weeks and this is exactly what happened? Ben’s more reliable with tone than her, tbh.

    Why did you have to remind me of that ugly fart of a song. To this day I still think that is possibly one of the worst songs ever released and for the life of me I honestly can’t guess why she accepted to be part of that.

    It’s Aug 11 and still no news. I feel like we’re not getting anything anytime soon as the song doesn’t feel like a summery jam tbh and - despite what everyone seems to be thinking about the photo shoot - I actually believe we’re not going to get any big mv for TJf. Like for NFR she kept posting snippets and they all turned out to be homemade mv but then she posted that pic of her on set for the FIILY mv which turned out to be the professional mv and lead single. Maybe IF there is an actual mv it could be for WHF which would be the lead, but I’m not entirely sure about that either.

    Okay I must admit that this era is giving me mixed signals. When NFR era was about to start I kinda got where she was going to go with the marine theme, homemade videos and apocalyptic-nostalgic feel - I am not entirely sure what we're going to get this time around. 

    The visuals seem to be gearing towards the "inland / desert" theme, with the shirt she keeps wearing and the location of the shooting and all that but the album title is giving me ethereal vibes and the snippet is giving me sultry vibes that just do not fit in with the whole folskish aesthetic that I've build in my mind. Of course this is mainly my bad, I tend to prefer concept albums like it really bothered me that Doin Time, Cinnamon Girl and the ruined version of HTD made the NFR tracklist. 

    But like I am not getting the vision. Anyone else feels the same?

    i never know what to think after i heard the final version of HIAB when i thought "happiness is a butterfly we should catch it like every night" was the chorus and "don't be a jerk" was the bridge 

    True. Happiness has a weird structure though, she's been playing with song structures on a couple of songs but I still think the snippet is part of a chorus, I don't know, too many layers, and the melody is very catchy. To me, TJF is a lot like Cinnamon Girl, in that the instrumental drops at the end of the snippet and that's when the verse will come in. I don't know, it's very reminiscent of Cinnamon Girl. Also kinda reminiscent of Trash Magic, but like a different mood.

    if she does post another snippet i hope it isn't TJF cause i think she shared the verse and pre chorus so the only other part would be the chorus and the entire song would be spoiled  :toofloppy: 

     

    i'm hoping the song has a bridge or maybe a wicked guitar solo 

    I don't think that is a verse at all. It sounds more like a chorus to me - with the little bridge at the end leading into the second verse or whatever follows.

    I know it’s off-topic, but I was bit disappointed with Valley of the Dolls. It’s so short (was it an interlude?) and her voice is not as sharp as her usual songs (like a rushed demo). Makes me think it was abandoned very rapidly while making LFL. It’s not bad, but not exceptional. I guess I was expecting more, something as great as Serene Queen, RBFY or Lust for Life demo.

    I see your point and I agree but I'm saying the vibe I get from songs like valley of the dolls, bpbp demo, l4l demo, the witchiness of them, it was just going to be THAT bitch but for some reason they ended up watering it tf down I'm so pissed 

    Personally in regards to LFL, my ideal tracklist for it would be

    Serene Queen

    White Mustang

    Architecture

    Coachella - Woodstock in my mind

    young and in love, roachella, white mustand and groupie love are not witchy enough - serene queen I like the verse but the chorus is just meh . Maybe add Wild One to the mix , the rest is fire.

    Do you guys think Lana will give her brother a shot at directing this time around? She keeps tagging him.

    Also, wtf are the lyrics? Genius has got something down but I think it's not 100% correct.

    Here's what I have managed to understand so far but some things are totally a guess.

    If Taylor feels inspired by Lana so what, that's what having a fellow artist you look up to sounds like lol? Folklore is still an amazing piece of work on her own and she's proven to be an incredible songwriter before

    I don’t agree with that / that is not inspiration - that is trying to copy a style and doing it very badly. .

    I think she was trying to go for something like “Blue hydrangea cold cash divine cashmere cologne and white sunshine” with the exception that these lyrics actually portray a picture. Taylor’s are just weird associations of words and it’s all just so reminiscent of Lana. Lana is still too relevant for people to copy what she‘s doing without looking like copycats.

    Probably MEGA unpopular opinion... but I kinda want a Taylor Swift collab

     

    And not only because of Folklore I've actually had this thought since the release of Wildest Dreams, I truly feel like her voices and lyrics would compliment each other incredibly plus I just know that she would be super critical of her own writing because she would be working with her idol

     

    I don't want the two of them on a COCC track, but idk a single remix or something would be cute :creep:

    Please “Vintage tee brand new phone high heels on cobblestones sequin smile black lipstick sensual politics“ why would Lana team up with someone who so blatantly and so averagely tries to mimick her lyricism? Sorry they just do not belong together
