Random question. It just occurred to me that I typically listen to NFR in specific moments of the day like I typically listen to 1-6/7 either in the morning or in the afternoon whereas I mostly listen to 7/8 - 14 in the evening and at night. It’s like the first half has a morning/afternoon type of vibe and the second half (from CG) an evening/night vibe? Plus lots of songs in the second half have the word ‘night’ in them whereas none in the first part have. Is this a stretch?

I SO agree with you on this. I do like NFR a lot but you can totally see how biased the critics reviews are. I mentioned this before about that Rantano YouTuber that everyone seemed to be over the moon about when he gave NFR a high score whereas he had been shitting on Lana’s work for ages because of her image and I will never stop believing that a big part of the truth is that this is a relatively non-controversy record where Lana has settled in an image that mostly everyone can be comfortable with.

Y’all are way too harsh on Lana. NFR is not an arena type of record, and I’m pretty sure that if she has doubts playing some of those songs live is because she’s an experienced performer with over 10 years in the game and we aren’t? Her sound has always been very big and cinematic and NFR is not. For better or for worse she went down a beautiful but very different path with this record and I can totally see why she wouldn’t play The Greatest or Happiness. They are way too spacious and would totally flop if not rehearsed properly and adapted to an arena sound. She knows it and she’s still trying to keep us happy singing some acapella, she might work the songs into the second leg of the tour, she might not, just cut the woman some slack (except when she butchered HTD).

Ok I have three things to say. One, it’s just so fucking beautiful for me to read everyone here from all over the world sharing feelings and experiences from listening to the record in our day-to-day life, while driving, smoking, chilling or whatever. I don’t know it’s like even if everyone comes from a different place or is at a different place in life atm, there is a feeling connected to the music that I am sure almost everybody here feels. 2, is it me or is Love Song mix all over the place? Like some parts are really low and then the piano comes in REAL loud and it hurts my ears, mostly when I play the song at high volume. 3. Are there any European fans here who have been to a Lana arena show before and can give me a rough estimate of how many early entry tickets are usually sold ? Like how far back would early entry rows get to? Thank you xxxx

Basically it says that a lot of male artists and authors get away with creating fictional characters or personas (think David Bowie) without the press calling them fake or frauds whereas Lana has received a lot of bad press over the years for selling an image of herself that wasn’t believable or morally appropriate. But now that she has stripped it back a little with NFR everyone is praising her artistry. That’s why I said this should be spammed all over that Rantano reviewer who’s been mansplaining Lana’s art for years and now all of a sudden she’s good. Fuck that.

That sucks. I heard that a lot of people complained about fans screaming and being unable to hear Lana over the noise but I never thought I’d hear stuff like fighting for a spot at a Lana show lol You’d think she taught these bitches a lesson when she talked about the kindness of strangers but these bitches weren’t listening. This is good advise thank you. I’ve also got an early entry ticket for the show in Paris and I was wondering how long in advance you’re supposed to line up if you want to be front row with an early entry. I’ve queued for bands like Kings of Leon but the worst of it was like 8 hours for front row and just a couple of annoying 16 year old stans being bullies. From what I’m reading I should show up at least at 8 am on the day of the show for a chance to get to the front row and be very mindful of the people surrounding me because apparently some Lana stans can be very aggressive? Is that right?

Honestly this was just as horrific as I expected, such a wrong choice, artistically it just doesn’t do her any good. I hate to say this shit about Lana because I love her to bits, maybe she did this for fun or whatever and that’s okay but the song is just ugly, their parts don’t blend, there’s no chemistry, the song is chunky and it’s all because they’re all so different from each other it just sounds patched up. So much beauty comes out when she teams up with artists as talented as she is like when she teamed up with Leonard Cohen’s son but she is just in another league from Ariana and Miley.
