It’s interesting to see her still embrace Americana in her lyrics. Despite all the flack she got early on, she never strayed away from referencing classics in her songs. I like that her songs are still unmistakably LDR songs.

She had that Born to Die magic with Crybaby. Then she tried to replicate it with K-12 which sounded like a watered down Crybaby. This new album sounds like a Grimes impersonator. I’ll still be seated for the album though. But yeah, not sold by any snippets. The Void’s melody is catchy.
