  1. It’s giving smoker’s voice. I’m not saying she exactly has smoker’s voice but something is going on. Similar to, for example, what happened to Mariah Carey. She is not a smoker, but her voice has undeniably changed for the worst. Mariah used to do her breathy whisper voice as “ornaments” to her normal singing. As years past, that melisma whisper has become her main signature singing style. Further, it changed from being just a style to something she was consciously using to cover up the fact that she couldn’t use her chest voice properly anymore. Ok, she prefers it to sing in head voice, but the problem is it’s not pleasant anymore. This has been the whole discussion. We want her to sing deeper again because her higher voice is airy and dry now. Her higher voice in AKA is way more pleasant, rich, and on pitch compared to her recent songs where the high note sounds like she’s searching and wavering for melodies and very shaky. “Margaret” is a big example of this where she can’t quite hit the right note and it sounds almost nasally. In a minor key 'Cause when you know, you know When you know, you know She could’ve hit this much harder. Listen to Shades Of Cool then Listen to Textbook. Her voice has so much more power in Shades. It sounds really weak and brittle in Textbook. In fact, her hissing airy notes started with the Blue Banisters album and continues to Ocean until now the new Snow recording. Fishtail is easily one of her worst songs vocally. Her messy vocals added a vibe to the song, but I can’t deny it’s a mess and very weak in a traditional sense. I can tell it’s a recent recording. She’s actually been writing songs that are complementing her new voice. Paris, Texas fits her high voice perfectly with cracks and all. The cracks and pitchyness added character to the song. Some songs work better than others.
  2. OB is not chest voice at all. Its mixed head voice. The production is doing something to make it sound like chest when it’s not really. It’s like a golf ball in her mouth in that song. It’s not chest voice. In fact, I would like that song much better had she sang in chest voice. The whole song makes me uncomfortable because she’s singing right in the middle between chest and head. The back up singers are singing in chest voice. The same thing on The Grants.
  3. I forgot about that. She sings in chest voice for like 10 seconds then mumbles and the rest of the song is just head voice again. Literally just The rest of the song is in head voice . Kintsugi is all head voice. It’s very evident something is going on with her voice. We’ll find out soon with her doing a tour. I’m curious to how she’s going to sing her older songs.
  4. I’m glad she used her lower voice, but it’s clear why she doesn’t sing in chest voice anymore. I hate to admit it but it’s giving smoker’s voice. She’s carefully weaving through the notes, so it doesn’t crack that’s what it sounds like to me. I wonder that’s why they changed the melody. This is worrying. Miley is in the same troubling situation except worse. All of her “live” performances have been pre recorded and she’s avoiding touring. Just by listening to her album, her voice is very damaged. Lana is cleverly disguising the cracks by singing higher. Miley doesn’t have the range, so she’s forced to display her damaged voice. She kinda made it work by doing rockier music. Her new album not so much. I wonder if this apprehensiveness is causing Lana to mumble more in newer songs as well. She needs to stop smoking/vaping and go check in with a doctor ASAP. Her upcoming live performances will confirm my suspicions. Let’s see how she sings "Video Games" now if she raises the key, then that’s a very bad sign.
  5. Maybe they should add more reverb to Lana’s vocals. They also seem to reduced the reverb on Taylor’s voice as well it seems esp at the beginning. It sounds rougher compared to the original recording. Idk it just sounds messy. There are a lot of sharp hissing sounds to my ears. Also the “Like Snow” at the end sounds so phoned in from Lana . Anyway, Yes To Heaven just sounds so much nicer vocally.
  6. Sounds kinda messy. It’s giving Blue Banisters. There’s so much hissing, and Lana’s vocals is not giving. Listening to Yes To Heaven and then this. Yes To Heaven is so much cleaner and better produced. Also has much better vocals.
  7. It’s not really the original version. I read the Instagram post and it’s clearly implied that they tweaked and changed some things.
  8. Lana wanted those background noises. She literally said so. I don’t think Taylor is rude enough to the tell her to sing more. She probably just agreed to whatever Lana wanted.
  9. Hopefully she sings deep and uses more chest voice not the airy high thin notes she’s been doing recently. Vocals like Yes To Heaven verses or Ride would be ideal.
  10. Can Lana listen to her fans (like Taylor) and release the slightly sped up (non chipmunked) James Ford version?
  11. Oh, we can finally stan and stream. HELP . Taylor is such a smart business woman. (Featuring more Lana Del Rey) .
  12. Honestly, don’t need an album. Her team needs to do a droplet era and pushed all the songs to be smashes. Lana already has a lot of albums, but she’s doesn’t have much high charting singles.
  13. Both did way better on iTunes. People used to buy her singles. Love also had a video. The video came out the same week (literally two days after iTunes). Doin Time was pushed later. It wasn’t the first week. Love was not sent to pop. The radio date is pretty standard. It’s one/two weeks after digital release which is every ad date for almost every song (Love was sent over a month after digital tho). Radio stations are free to play the song before adds. The problem is the US stations don’t care for Lana. BBC Radio 1 already played the song. It’s not even on their playlist yet.
  14. People saying SYTH is old Lana bfr. 2012 Lana would never let that single cover out of the door. This would be the cover instead: The new version is still very much new Lana. She removed all bombastic elements out of the song. The only thing old is her voice/vocal delivery which truly shines in the song. Her voice is full, rich, and lush. It is crystal clear and very precise enunciation. You don’t need to look up lyrics because you understand what she’s singing just by first listen unlike the songs on OB. The lyrics are relatable to anyone. Christians are listening this song and praying. Church goers. It can be a religious song about god or about a boy or a girl or yourself. Graduations, Weddings, Funerals!!!! (For real this time unlike The Grunts). Also, the melody is absolutely gorgeous. It’s just a very strong melodic song.
  15. Serial Killer ain’t going to slay if she keeps insisting on releasing a different version to one that actually got popular.
  16. Told y’all it’s not the right version. People checked in and CHECKED OUT. They were expecting her to release the TikTok song only find out it’s not .
  17. That’s just not true. TikTok didn’t exist when all of the versions leaked. I don’t even understand this discussion. This is too much for me. If time is a factor whether something gains traction then why isn’t Ocean Blvd outreaming A&W. It came out before A&W. Like do you realize how ridiculous you sound? I don’t see Arcadia out-streaming Ocean either. Yes to Heaven versions were all available before TikTok. That app could’ve picked any of the versions to blow up but it’s still the James Ford version (slightly sped up). James Ford has always been the popular version even just on YouTube. The slightly sped up version NOT chipmunked is the absolute most popular. It was a by product of people evading copyright to post the song, but it ended up being the version people like the most. Just listen to it and you can see why. TikTok simply amplified that.
  18. The other versions meaning Stint, Honeymoon, Demo 1 2 3 5 or whatever.
  19. Then why did the James Ford version had 60 million views while the other versions barely got over 1 million views?
  20. Nobody knew it was going to be this version I can tell you that.
  21. I don’t want more unreleased music if she’s releasing it like this. Literally butchering it.
