NFR is highly overrated, just as folk as a genre is. Often times it’s just so one-dimensional in an attempt to come off as artsy these days.
Jack winning a Grammy despite producing some of the worst alt-girl albums is proof enough. As a Lana fan of the first minute I am experiencing a huge drought. I miss the cinematic and ethereal soundscape that made images pop up in my head. I also miss the Lana that cared about music videos and extravagant looks but she is looong dead.

Yall did Text Book so wrong. Easily one of the few good songs on there.
I don’t hate Living Legend, Nectar of the Gods & Cherry Blossom tbh. I was just never particularly crazy about them.Seeing them as part of this album though…they just come off as total fillers and it shows why they never made it onto an album before. They needed to be reworked.

I am so disappointed. This is actually so so lazy! Most of these mixes are already available, the artwork is ugly and the remixes they selected are the most generic mixes of the singles.
That said, the song selection is also quite absurd.
Why is fucking Me Against the Music there but not one of her own Dance #1s like Causing a Commotion or the Lucky Star and Angel that charted alongside Holiday and Into the Groove?
They should stop putting out these pointless and unorganised anniversary editions and instead put her damn singles catalogue on streaming.

People who preach about abstinence from leaked unreleased material are kind of like the people who preach about abstinence from sex before marriage.
They think it will grant them the graces from the person/thing they idolize. The truth is, what’s out is out. People not listening to things that have leaked won't change the fact that they have leaked. Neither will it result in Lana writing you a personal letter, declaring you her best fans.
Actually, her putting leaked material on Blue Banisters could actually be a direct result of her songs leaking. Her interest in releasing unreleased material and outtakes sparked out of the popularity of her unreleased catalogue. Songs she once considered not good enough for a release, were possibly reevaluated by her.

and i don't even like halsey that much
it's obvious now that most of you are clearly stuck in the early/mid 10s where sky was a thing and halsey was garbage, it's 2022 now, halsey is a beautiful mother with a fire album and movie released last year, she stopped most of her antics (thankfully)
The success part pretty much confirms what I said before. Her label and management did everything in their power to make sure she'd get a few hits. They changed her music, her style numerous times until something would stick. Sadly nothing about her is truly authentic.
Her first video was a straight up copy of Night Time, My Time. New Americana was a carbon copy of National Anthem for gen Z. When all of that didn’t stick, they made her a sellout and even went against her wishes of making more punk-oriented music.
Unlike Halsey, Lana and Sky didn’t oblige to the wishes of their labels. Lana also has Ben and Ed who stick up a lot for her. Things really started to change for Lana when they didn’t let her release Cola as a single and when they almost didn’t let her release West Coast as the lead for UV (they were pushing for Black Beauty). That’s when she really stopped giving a fuck and when they stopped investing into her in terms of promo etc.

Halsey literally is an industry plant their label created to have a more marketable version of Sky and Lana.

// = alternate song choicesThis setlist was so fucking hard to conceptualize. Blue Banisters isn't a particularly cohesive album and it was hard to derive sections out of it that somewhat made sense. I based mine around the way Arcadia is defined:
Arcadia refers to a vision of pastoralism and harmony with nature.
So I based my setlist around the 4 elements of nature and sort of let Lana tell her story through the sections:
- the dark place she was in during her youth and her struggles with addiction and toxic relationships
- her rise to fame and the major downsides of it
- her last few relationships and how she went from one toxic relationship to the next
- her vision of the perfect relationship and her partner loving her how she is and not wanting to change anything

“"It's just really important that people have the, both the reality and the perception that they are able to speak freely within the bounds of the law," Musk said during a recent TED interview. Musk added he is not a fan of permanent bans, favoring suspensions. The CEO of both Teslaand SpaceX has often used Twitter to crack jokes and promote his business interests, from his companies to cryptocurrencies he's eyeing.”

Iconic. So she is somewhat aware that BB was kinda shit.

Before very recently, though, it was a very small portion of fans on here that loved the record! I specifically remember me and like, 4 other members congregating in the HM thread about 4 or 5 years ago, and now it seems almost everyone adores the album! I love the Honeymoon renaissance. 💐
I think that’s what often happens with “underdog albums”. People get tired of the popular albums or everyone stanning the obvious choices, so they turn to the less loved ones and often times it develops into a desire to demand more attention for these.
For example: It's more fun to fantasize about live performances of songs that she has never performed. BTD, Paradise, LFL and UV all got their time to shine. The others didn't, so fans are automatically inclined to get more excited if a song from those albums gets a surprise appearance. Born to Die at this point is overplayed and Lust for Life gets a lot of shit for coming after Honeymoon and getting way more love than HM and NFR combined.
Jack Antonoff has revealed that him and Lana have recorded a new song at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

You make it sound as if you were present when she wrote/recorded these album. All these things you said are assumptions. Things we can’t judge. What we can judge is the product and compare that to her previous albums.
