in my mind it was for Tulsa Jesus Freak because she probably shot it the same day she filmed the LMLYLAW performance, and Clay seems to be a Tulsa Jesus Freak

Maybe that’s what it was originally for, yes. I have a feeling the videos she shoots without lip synching are the ones she usually reconsiders for a different purpose.

I know this may be another conspiracy theory of mine but did no one else notice how perfectly the Shades of Cool video matches the lyrics of Cola? The whole story about being the mistress/side chick of an older guy. The pool scenes with her eating strawberries, the sleeping beauty scenes with the blooming flowers (imagery she used for the Cola backdrop as well) along with the black & white scenes from the West Coast video (the Cola backdrop used stormy palm trees before showing the arrival of spring with the blooming flowers).

In my mind, she repurposed the mood board/concepts she had in mind for Cola (and we know damn well she wanted it as a single with a video) for West Coast/Shades of Cool.

Can’t she get his consent and have his face blurred into a silhouette? The aesthetic was incredible. I get that it might be awkward, but if things ended amicably and well, maybe she’d release it?

Do gotta say, the released vid’s incredible and its impactful in its own right w the video not having any male figures to parallel the song’s theme. The tractor moment where she shakes off his memory to herself was heartwrenching

That’s why I’m thinking that the video could actually be for Text Book rather than Blue Bannisters.

  3. I had this idea of making dual albums for some of Lana’s albums or a B-Side album that is essentially an album of its own.

it’s so funny watching people be nostalgic for past eras because i just remember all of them being shit shows tbh :rip: NFR was painful, the fact that she released MAC + VB and announced the album almost a full year before it came out and kept on posting tons of snippets the whole time but there would be months of no album news… makes me grateful she’s barely said or shared anything this time around

And she didn’t even bother to record proper music videos for either 💀💀💀.

NFR as an era was horrible. Especially if you’ve been a fan since BTD/P. She truly gave even less of a shit that era than she did during Honeymoon. Aesthetically it was also disappointing. The one thing Honeymoon had going on at least was the big set of beautiful graphics we got that era. The videos were recycled mostly but at least the photoshoots were gorgeous.

NFR didn’t have more than one proper music videos, barely any good photoshoots and the tour was a reduced version of the previous one with very few NFR songs added to the setlist. What exactly was there to be nostalgic about? 💀

so you think lana should do what you like?

even the project is not be confirmed formally.

Absolutely not. She can do whatever she wants with whoever she wants. I just won’t like or enjoy it. That is my personal opinion.

Taylor, in my opinion is one of the most fake and narcissistic people in the industry. I have made very bad personal experiences with people who are like that.

  7. This is beyond scary and extremely alarming! @Elle have you considered changing your phone number, so that this won’t happen again?

Also, do you have your phone number listed on your social media somewhere? A while ago I found out that my phone number was linked with my Facebook account and that people managed to get my number because of that.

I'm always amazed that there are Lana fans who have never heard Video Games.

I have and I didn’t like it. Still don't. National Anthem turned me into a stan.

  9. Objectively, I’d say National Anthem as personal favourite and best song overall.

Other than that, Without You is the song that connects with me the most on an emotional level. So if I were to pick a fave, regardless of what I think is the overall best song of the album, that would be it.

It's just personally crazy to me why a certain user is still here if they haven't liked an album in almost ten years, and i'm allowed to express that too :coffee:

No one said you have to kiss her ass and worship everything she does, but like said above, why waste so much of your time and energy on music you dislike so much?

I‘m not sure if you're aware of this but as with every artist who has been in the game for at least 10 years and has released a multitude of material during that time, it’s natural that the fanbase is composed of different types of fans.

In fact, fans who joined very early on tend to not enjoy the more recent material as much as the old stuff.

Why? That is because artists often change over time and they tend to explore different directions. It’s perfectly fine to be a fan of the first minute and to stay a fan although you tend to not like or not be as excited about new material anymore. There are a lot of people who, for example joined during the Honeymoon or NFR eras, whereas those eras were the points where some others have started to lose interest.

Still, no one has the right to tell others that they should leave because they have a different opinion or are dissatisfied with Lana‘s current direction. A forum thrives and exists through discussion and exchange of opinions and thoughts. If anything, people who do not like this kind of exchange should think about whether a forum is the right place to talk about their fave artist if it only makes them mad.
