  1. This is indeed a very very sad and fucked up situation and feel terribly sorry for her.

Sadly, this is reality for many many artists and bands. She is by far not the only one this has happened to. I am hopeful that the people who are in possession of her files and data will not be handing them out just like that. They will try to make a lot of money out of this while they can. However, they are also aware that leaking things or even selling thing from recently stolen property can most likely be traced directly back to them. So while this is a very upsetting situation, I do not think we or her need to be that scared of anything bad happening.

the dispute has long been settled

    deshalb-haben-sich-katy-perry-und-taylor

Because Katy sent her a letter asking to settle it. So far, Taylor has not apologized for:

    - writing a diss track about her

    - purposely shitting on Witness' release week by putting her catalogue back on streaming as a “surprise”

Aside from that, she has been awarded by the Grammy committee, in a rather questionable number of times. While someone like Adele acknowledged that white privilege played into it, Taylor boasted about her own achievement and pulling out statistics during her speech. She knew full well that Kendrick Lamar’s album was the front runner and instead of addressing this rather unfair situation, she trashes another POC artist during an acceptance speech. :) She’s a horrible and self-absorbed person and anyone who can’t see that is easily manipulated by narcissists like her. I unfortunately  had to grow up with a narcissistic father before my parents divorced. I know what they are like, how they act and she checks all the marks.

i’m not surprised honestly lmao, lana fans tend to have some delusion about how she’s some indie underground artist and write off all mainstream acts to be “different” even though lana is just as mainstream herself and has been since video games came out. i am very excited too i think they are going to make something beautiful! their styles mesh very well, i really don’t understand why people think it will be bad… it’s not like lana is gonna hop on a max martin shake it off beat or something in the year 2022

For me, this has nothing to do with mainstream/non-mainstream. I personally just dislike the whole vibe Taylor gives off. The shit she pulled with Katy was the lowest thing ever and even though they made up, she never apologized and it was Katy who had to actually ask to end the feud (even though she wasn't the aggressor).

She literally had an army of models, whom she called the "Tay Squad" who would act as social media bodyguards for her. :biblio: She has repeatedly encouraged her fans to bully people she had a personal problem with. She is someone with a massive victim complex, who likes to trash people publicly, encourages bullying and acts as a fucking saint in the public eye.

I don't wanna make a scene nor anything of the sort. I just wanna say that this is a discussion forum and if people don't like this from the start (we must listen to the song to know if it's good or not), then that's their (or our) problem, if it is a problem. I just don't see the point in telling someone who is here because they love Lana that "there's no point in being here if you don't like NFR/COCC/BB/the-idea-of-the-Taylor-collab", it's straight up rude. This is a discussion forum and it's okay to like or dislike things and give arguments or not. Not everyone will have your same opinion and thats OK? I don't like this idea (still don't know if it will be good) because I really dislike Taylor's music and I know many others think the same, and this is a discussion thread for that, so what's wrong in voicing your own opinion... I'm not being rude to anyone for liking this. I might sound annoyed because I have my own thoughts on this which I'm not even sharing because I'm seeing how relentless some of you are, which it's ok! But there's no need to attack people you'll still be seeing here...

:gclap:People fail to understand that a forum is not a shrine or a church but a platform that very much lives off of contrasting opinions. ESPECIALLY more critical voices keep discussions alive. Without that, there would be no point in having a forum really. It's also interesting how there's a lot of hate towards Born to Die and Lust for Life coming from the Honeymoon &  NFR/COCC/BB crew but that really isn't being chastisized as much as hating on her more recent output, namely her last three albums.

  5. I also love how everyone thinks stripping it down and becoming boring and dreary = growth in music. You cannot tell me that Lana has been flourishing creatively and conceptually with the last three albums. And Taylor honestly just saw how much acclaim Lana and Lorde got for their Jack albums and jumped on that train. 😂😂😂

I am forced to listen to those boring ass albums cause my flat mate has been blasting them in our flat for the past two years. There is no growth or maturity in folk music or soft rock. It’s usually what artists do when they run out of creativity juice and start to become pretentious.

I can’t believe some people are really mad or not excited abt this 😭

After the… tragedy of don’t call me angel I’m just so happy to be looking forward to a collab that actually has potential to be amazing.

I’ve always found Taylor to be kind of annoying but that’s just me being a hater.
The growth and maturity in her music that she reached with folklore and evermore is undeniably good… and when she named Lana as the greatest songwriter of our generation, even though everyone tells HER she’s the greatest every single day.. well that pretty much got me to finally like her and listen to those last two albums. I’m sooo ready for this. I have faith in these two

A pop collab with two very different artists that actually got played on radio and had mainstream potential definitely made me more excited than a collab with an artist I hate and produced by my least favorite Lana producer who is very much a one-trick-pony and has served up her most boring and washed up projects 😂😂😂.

In case you needed an explanation, there you have it.

No we didn't, at least we are getting a song

Tbh I'm more worried about Jack Antonoff's contribution than I am about either of the girls' :wtf3:

Yes we did. Taylor shouldn’t be anywhere near Lana‘s iconic discography. This is a huge STAIN.

    :bebe:

  8. Can someone hit me up with a good masterpost? I think I have pretty much everything that has been released but I would really like to get ahold of the leaks as well. <3

Personally, I feel like Lana during 2012-2015 was super glamourous. She had a team of stylists by her side, I suppose, but I think that she looked gorgeous nevertheless and feel like the glamour was there, and that some people might move towards that time because of it? Maybe I'm being too naïve. Lana is beautiful no matter what, that's obvious, and if we're here I guess we all think that? She was gorgeous when she was skinny and she's beautiful now, too. But I do feel like some people romanticize how depressed she was.

    Being depressed =/= skinny

Anti-depressants can actually promote weight gain. She was easily the most depressed during the Honeymoon era. She was dating Francesco and he cheated on her with Rita Ora’s sister just after they had decided on a house they were going to buy. Then the album dropped and you could tell she wasn’t all there. Barely any interviews, one small radio performance, no tour, barely any new visuals.

I think she felt really lonely during that time cause she didn’t have her current friends and entourage. Her former friends had been distancing themselves from her and instead started hanging out with people like Taylor Swift. Not a great time for her. The album also didn’t seem particularly inspired and she has barely ever performed anything off of it live.

I don't think it's wrong to prefer a certain era of an artist that goes back years. People want to identify themselves with the stars, and when they are younger, they naturally like the earlier eras more. There's something nostalgic about that they choose Lana, usually they take newer artists of their age. I also found this:

    https://aesthetics.fandom.com/wiki/Key_West_Kitten

It's interesting how early Lana paved the way for this subculture.

I guess it must be because I try to avoid TikToxic as much as possible but this sounds so fake and niche. Almost as if someone who likes Lana, Katy Perry and Hillary Duff (of all people) made this up. 😂😂

This post sounds like it's heavy on gatekeeping

My thoughts exactly. So apparently the people who enjoy her looks and music from that era the most are sexist and fatphobic? 💀 Okay gurl…

I’d be lying if I said that I prefer how she used to look compared to now. That doesn’t mean that I think she’s fat nowadays or that she looks bad. You can weigh a little more or a little less and still be just as beautiful. But since we're on the topic of fat vs. skinny shaming, the latter is just as much a thing as the former and also quite problematic. On the other hand, saying that it’s okay to be severely obese or overweight or severely underweight and skinny is ALSO extremely problematic. Promoting an unhealthy lifestyle and body/beauty standard is just as bad as shaming people for how they look. I think there is definitely a middle way but some people have a hard time staying there and tend to shift to the extremes. Sadly, they are the ones who are usually the loudest.

  13. Welcome to my fan art thread! Don't expect to much avant-garde cover artwork here. I always try to go with something that doesn't look too "out there" if you know what I mean. If you're a fan of rather simplistic, and more consistent cover art to use for your iTunes collection, you've come to the right place (hopefully)! :)

    Blue Banisters Era:

Some of the pictures Neil took for this album were amazing but I feel like they didn't use them to their full potential. Also, I am probably not the only one who utterly despised the ugly selfie cover.

In addition to that, I'm not a huge fan of textless covers unless they are very striking, so here's my set of covers for this era:

The font is a mix of various fonts I tweaked a bit to look more natural.
