Heavy Hitter/Go Go Dancer/Hit and Run/Be My Daddy all feel like prototypes of Off to the Races, like that song condensed all of them into one singular song lol -
Omg it was so luscious

The sooner the country era starts, the sooner it ends, so they should put out their project ASAP and if Dan auerbach were to be involved, that wouldn’t be terrible as he helped lana make her best album -
Can some one please give me a sparknotes version of whatever tf i missed lol

I love how you can really hear the 60’s girl group influence in a lot of the songs. I think I can hear this most on LFL, Cherry, and Get Free, where’s she’s doing these little “uhhh” “ahhh” “shoo wop” ad libs in the background. So cute. I’ve been listening to Back to Black a lot recently, too, and I appreciate how both albums pull from the same frame of reference (60’s girl groups, Shangri-Las, Ronettes, etc) and still came out completely different. Lana veered more hippie and Amy ended up more Motown. -

She has slept with a lot of guys in the music industry, but none of them helped her get her record deals, which is annoying -
wasn’t rock candy sweet that awful euphoria song?

lyrics/who wrote it 2 diff songs can sound just as good but if one was written by the artist and one was written by professional songwriters/ghostwriters, i will always put the self-written song first

We need a new regional love song Diet Mt Dew was about loving a douchebag in New York City, West Coast was about loving an angsty druggie guy in California, Salvatore was about loving a rich guy in Italy, Tulsa Jesus Freak was about loving a redneck in Oklahoma… What’s next? She needs to go to Dubai and find a rich man

Lana interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter [INTERVIEW]
ShadesOfFool replied to boom like that's topic in New Interviews
yes im deeply shocked and upset it depends on her definition of country, but an album full of songs that sound like afraid, video games, ride, earthquakes, breaking up slowly, etc would not be horrible (those are the most acoustic/country-esque songs of hers that i can think of at this second) there are also lots of R&B singers that delve into country-adjacent sounds and they come out great, so flirting with country music is not necessarily a bad thing its just that most country music out these days is lame and sucks, but lana del rey is a different breed -
