yeah I would agree. The twitter hype and the public hate is kind of overshadowing it, but she definitely doesn’t not seem okay. Like you said, the allusions you’re Plath and the (possible) reveal of time in a mental hospital are not comforting. Also, yeah her mother’s day post was kind of off, so she clearly has issues with her mother. And then drugs, alcohol, depression, and shitty men seem to be a recurring thing in her life. And last we heard she had just broken up with sean... I said in another thread I suspect she might be having a “mid life crisis” (that term makes me cringe but it’s the only one I can think of). She wanted to be married and be a mother by now, and tbh she’s nowhere near there. So I think she’s definitely taking things hard.

She should just do an album of unreleased songs that are already floating around. Just put them out in one single package so then everyone can shut up about them lol. She knows her fans already know them all, tho, so she might not see a point. Anyways I’m hoping for a single maybe around the Fourth of July, she usually had been putting out the lead a couple months before the album drop (except for NFR that was about a two year rollout)

I think she’s kinda lost her spark tbh. Her other albums are so unique and powerful. No one but Lana Del Rey could make an album like Ultraviolence, for example. Meanwhile NFR was just so plain, generic. Tbh I find it boring. I understand she’s matured and it would ridiculous to expect her to just do one thing her whole career. She was a troubled young woman during her early career and her music reflected that, now she’s calmed down a lot, and the music reflects that too. BUT that doesn’t mean you can never make an exciting song again, Lana. The music used to literally give people goosebumps, it was so raw and lush and out there. Now it just sounds filler on an album made by any other alternative/country artist. hopefully her “I just want one piano and ukele to make this entire album” phase is over and she can go back to being a musical beast again.

When that track list drops, I don’t wanna recognize a single song. When she first put out the NFR tracklist my bear sank because I had already heard half the songs. So far we know there’s a song called “Let Me Love You Like A Woman” and probably one called “White Hot Forever.” And she always has a title track of “Chemtrails over the Country Club” also.

yeah that’s what I was guessing tbh Country clubs are the most upper middle class American thing I can think of. Like that’s just so...Americana. So I’m guessing she’s saying the American Dream is polluted/broken/toxic. NFR was similar in theme but with a little more sweetness in there. Hope was dangerous but she still had it. Now who knows? I lowkey don’t think she’s ~okay~ right now, so I’m curious to see what the music reflects.

To be honest, I still have no idea what “Chemtrails over the country club” means... like... “country club” gives me privileged white girl (not a good look for her rn) and chemtrails...idk? I know it’s like planes but that’s so random. A metaphor for drugs? Getting high at the country club? For what it’s worth, I hate the title of NFR too. I would’ve called it Venice Bitch tbh.

She looks unrecognizable in the last few pics we’ve seen. Her face at the end of that last poem video...who even was that? I’m all for plastic surgery but she looked better before. Is it fillers? Her face looks so puffy and just weird.

I love Kehlani, but she was 100% just tryna get cool points off Lana. And tinashe...well she’s gotta make people remember she exists somehow. Lana was reckless for posting that, but They could have easily privately hit lana up, especially since they were claiming her making it public was dangerous. So like...why bring even more attention to it? But anyways if I were Lana I’d be locking myself in the house right now and not coming out or going online for a long while.

I would be shocked if the album comes out on September 5th. Especially after what just happened on social media now, she might just shut down for a pretty long time.

love the Honeymoon cover. She looks so small and isolated, but it highkey serves the story of the album. But as for COCC, I’m eager to hear what she’s been working on. I hope we get a single sometime in June. Wait why is she releasing on a Saturday?

She said she “sees everything in star signs” when she first talked about writing this album. No idea what that is supposed to mean. I know she said this was gonna sound like NFR, but then I’m reminded when she said Honeymoon was gonna sound like Ultraviolence, and it didnt at all, so who knows with her? The title gives me vibes that it’s maybe something more trippy. The mention of a country club brings back the more posh imagery of her earlier work as well, but with an older, more mature feel.
