  1. one of my favs tbh! it's pretty simple but there's something about her vocal delivery, the yearning, that really gets me.
  2. i am only excited in the sense that the rest of the song is SO dif from the chorus/clip we got– wonder how she'll interpret the verses visually? i think maybe it just faded? with sun/water etc (when you have lighter hair and dye it darker it can fade really fast, and hence look lighter)

    Sad girl vs text book
  4. Agree, it was hard for me to hear it properly when the album came out cuz I’d already played it so much, but now I can hear it again as a stand-alone and damn it’s good
  5. Tbh obsessed w the way she sings “gar-den-ias” (“de” rather than “dee”)
  6. yes i managed to snag a copy and am so excited! did anyone ever figure out if this was old stock they just found/a new pressing/etc?
  7. My spin instructor played a West Coast remix in class today, such a treat! Usually if Lana shows up in spin it’s either a Young and beautiful or SS remix.

  9. @MrFameKills was writing about what "star dust alone/star drip IV" could mean and here's my read: star dust alone refers to the dust of stars long since burnt out, ie she's been living off the fumes of gasoline rather than gasoline itself. star drip IV is a way to describe how she introduced the heat of a living star but had to do it through artificial means. i love this new turn in her long held use of the heat as a metaphor for desire, passion, liveliness, electricity and connection– that this person brought heat into her life after a long period of her either lacking it or finding it only artifically. as if it's not clear i'm OBSESSED with this song...also love that poetry (the word) has been showing up in her lyrics so much in COCC and now BB. writing poems has obviously brought something super powerful to her life that is evident both in her writing and in how she describes pleasure/connection etc. in her songs now.
  10. Lyrics from WW literally haunting me, I hear that song in my head all day long

    Oof yosemite vs text book
  15. Wait is Jenny in BB possibly Jenny Lewis? She is BFFs w Nikki lane and I’ve always wondered if her and Lana know each other- in some ways they have a lot in common as songwriters. Would LOVE a collab tbh! Anyhow 24hrs into new songs & TB is def hitting this morning. Listening to the songs loud while driving has been the perfect way to hear them. Whoever said TB has UV vibes I finally heard that this morning- something about the melody of the piano, and it’s resonance, reminds me of UV the song specifically. WW remains unreal and I have to say BB gave me a WHOLE diff story than the snippet implied- thought we were getting a love story, got something way more complex. Love that for her. All in all I am now totally hype for the new album and delusionally hoping it really does come out SUNDAY July 4 lmao…
  16. i hear scarlet's walk in the TB verses big time!
  17. i def hear I’ve been running on star drip IVs for so long (one of my fav lyrics from her ever?!)
  18. LANA my gardenias just bloomed and a reminder that their scent is intoxicatingly intense and heady...the flower this era?
  19. Also I’m sure someone has said this already but I’m interpreting her “revenge” as the act of telling her own story, which so far it sounds like she’s doing on this record in a whole new way.
  20. I think BB sounds the most like a transition between COCC and this next era- still some of those warm twangy guitars. WW is still my fav of the three- picks up with big atmospheric beats a la HM which I will never be mad at! But also like a natural progression from the songwriting on COCC. Love the vocals, like someone else said she’s returning to those jazzier vocals rather than her folk vocals (which i also love tbh). TB’s verses are incredible but the chorus’s melody isn’t hitting for me- we’ll see, maybe it’ll happen! And I am LOVING the lyrics on these- seems like she’s moving some of her techniques from poetry to her lyrics (the wordiness) which I adore…the stardust IV line absolutely kills me. All in all this has me VERY excited for the album (which btw I still think is called RCS but who truly knows) tho is my heart really ready so soon after COCC????
  21. i can also see behind the iron gates coming in so perfectly alongside this new album re new lyrics...here's hoping we get that soon too!
