Wait I am so confused then why did Andre Leon Talley mention Lana as a fellow nominee weeks ago?

My fav hair color in Lana is the super dark almost black brown (early honeymoon era look supremacy), but I thought her blonde looked gorgeous and she took so long transitioning into it and getting it right! But tbh I feel that, I get so bored so fast w my own hair.

would die for this but (maybe mistakenly) am assuming from summertime and related posts that her interpretation of standards and classics might really just stick to 20s/30s/40s stuff...plus patsy cline? maybe it will end up being super eclectic stylistically which i'd love honestly

since she called them her crew for the album, i'm wondering if the entire project with have this almost camp-jazz vibe or if she'll do some other stuff too? i really wanted jazz more in the vein of the other woman, but this interpretation is surprisingly traditional (tbh i was expecting sort of 70s-laurel canyon takes on standards) and pretty on the nose.

just had the thought that lana seems to be leaning into her blanche dubois feels in this song, and that the Interview mag video also has such strong tennessee-williams-anti-heroine vibes.

i have loved pammy's looks for lana over the years– and most recently esp for the FIILY/greatest vid, but i did think she weirdly got lana's foundation color wrong at the grammys which is a strange misstep. etienne's looks have been beautiful and def a new approach to lana's signatures (cat eyes/nude lips).

i wonder if the switch is covid related (since pamela cochrane is in uk correct?) or if she was just ready for a change. hadn't PC been doing her make up since 2012?

idk what lana's interpretation of classic or standard is but the commonly understood version is the great american songbook type stuff, gershwin, cole porter etc. i could def see lana extending this out to some 60s/70s classics too
