Also it really annoys me because, at the peak of her career when she's doing her biggest numbers, she's not getting the same support from other artists that she gives them. She literally stands and applauds and sings along to everyone's songs and cheers them on, and she becomes their punchline

🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯 The Nikki Lane is Over Thread [Hot!] 🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯 No, seriously there was zero need for her to post that. She could've just stayed silent if she's not a fan. I honestly feel like people are just triggered and bitter by how much the GP (outside of stan twitter) still likes her/streams her/goes to her shows. Granted my TikTok algorithm is biased, but, almost every random video is using a TTPD song - and even my coworkers are talking about their favorite songs off the album.

Why is the title track kinda growing on me… who’s gonna hollllldddddd you, like me?….no fucking body…
-
i guess since this album was an exploration on some of the worst decisions she’s ever made - she’s not gonna send confetti to celebrate them

This line from the Sputnik review (which, in it's entirety, is very poignant) sums up the album perfectly. She's emotional and raw without being mawkish.

You can "hear" her smile during the bridge of "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?" on vinyl and it totally changes the tone of the song in the most wonderful way LOL

I’ve said it so many times but I had whiplash on first listen bc I grew up in a house by the Heath. So Long, London fills me with so much sadness.

I never liked Camila, and honestly, for very unfair reasons (she reminds me of a cousin I have who has bad BO) -

I really thought Chemtrails Over The Country Cub would be her victory lap (especially after QTFC), where she revisits her UV sound/lyricism (some form of a more rock/Auerbach-influenced "The Greatest" production) - and would be her flexing her muscles post-NFR to show that she can be both acclaimed and highly controversial. Aside from how it was announced, COTCC was a pretty safe album that catered to the crowd that enjoyed NFR (and I was one of them, I just wish it was a bit more of a vindictive move).

Are you guys sniffing glue lol? This was obvious to me - she's never been able to take advantage of a promo opportunity correctly

@Pink Champagne we have very similar taste! Agree with all your bolded songs, especially
-
Fortnight might be her best pop song ever like holy shit it’s like a narcotic I can’t stop listening
-
im so surprised this song is getting streamed less than So Long, London. SLL is beautiful but My Boy is such a straight up banger.

I think only So Long, London and maybe a few of the 2am songs lol. The prologue also makes it clear it’s about Matty. Plus there’s so many 1975 references throughout the album.
